[quote="Unknown Sniper":40d7c]probably wouldnt help. I never took physics and from what people are talkign about here excluding ninty9 you guys hae not left the idea that time as we speak of it (sec, min, hour, day, week so one etc.) does not exist. Thus you think that if you fravel fast enough to beat the sun in an orbit or what ever you will be ahead of time. This whole thread is offtopic:
[/quote:40d7c]
you're right about being off topic, kinda.
everything before that is wiggity wack... you clearly didn't read the other posts and if you took physics you would know a bit more on the subject. you can travel into the future and it has nothing to do with going around the sun or whatever beating the sun in orbit is supposed to mean. i'm not even sure what you point was exactly... hmm..... and the topic is "what do you think" and in order to have an opinion of this crazy guy we have to explore the possibilities of time travel.

the page is down, but ill talk about time travel. i read where a few said that you can go back in time and step on something and change the future. that cant be. if time travel is possible then we cant change our lives and destiny. that means you cant change the future by stepping on something, because that effect is what you would experience in the future. you see?

bwolf 12-15-2003 05:39 PM

ninety9 explained that one to animal

But that assumes that you believe in destiny.

If you go back in time and step on something, the future would change but in a mostly unnoticable way. Unless you stepped on something important.

For example if you stepped on an apple tree sapling in England and stopped it's growth, and that apple tree just happened to be the one Newton was sitting under when he thought up the theory of gravity (this is just an example, I know its just a legend), depending on what you believe in (multiverse or whatever), either you would just create another parallel world where either Newton didn't develop the theory that day or at all, but the world you came from would remain unchanged. Or if you believe in the other theory your world would change that either the gravity theory was developed another day or was developed by someone else another day.

Either way there's no way to prove anything regarding time travel so essentially all of these theories are just providing material for science fiction novels.

Unless of course someone actually does develop a time machine, but then we'd just have to take that person's or group's word for what happened during the testing of the theories since there would be no way to fully prove that anything at all happened, since they would be the only ones that would even notice a difference, unless their memories adapt to the changed world.

Is there really any point in throwing these theories around at all?

...err, I seem to recall reading where a top secret U.S. Government program is attempting to build a time machine.
When a visiting Senator seems about to cut off funds for the project, Professor Tony Newman jumps into the
tunnel and finds himself in the year 1912 on the Titanic just hours before it would sink! Professor Douglas Phillips
follows him in a rescue attempt, but they both end out trapped in time! Their team in the present is constantly
trying to repair the time tunnel to bring them back, but to no avail. Each week thereafter, they would either find
themselves at some major historical event or they might be battling aliens in the future or some such shit... I can't
remember exactly.....so...erm, yeah....

…but it was dangerous apparently, and in tampering with time, fuck-ups could easily occur...
according to this article I read anyways... eek:

no its not only if you belive in destiny. if you can go into the past you can go into the futre-how else would you get back to where you were in time? oOo:
