Maybe it's the imperialistic blood red colour... I am bored of green camo pattern too, better to take the colours of uniforms & add them to the site. Maybe use a silver & black/feldgrau layout, similar to the German ww2 uniform. Either that or use a kharki, desert, muddy colour like the brit/american tunic or maybe dark, navy blue/red like the commies.

i find that Mr. Anonymous's is too dark, dont get me wrong, I like to have a dark page, but , something a little lighter would be better.

guars second one is not oo bad, easy on the eyes. im not too crazy on that writing in the background though, it seems that he does that on everything.
