Asian setting sorta reminds me of a few maps from bf:nam. Some of the asian maps look good, that swamp map was too nam'ish for my liking.

Gamespot have a new preview up, don't really like the sound of the weapons looking to have no recoil but a wide spread, just seems that would make guaging shots pretty difficult.

So basically what that means is the guns won't have recoil, but the bullets will go all over the place? Sounds like the MGs in Silent Heroes.

Going to be pretty stupid if you can't hit people at 300m with the M16 because your first shot goes in a random angle.

Sounds like CoD, where the best person was just lucky that their bullets hit.

[quote:8e1eb]We noticed that the infantry weapons aren't quite as powerful as the preview trailers made them seem to be. If you're coming straight from Battlefield 1942, then you're definitely going to notice a distinctly smaller amount of recoil on the weapons, to the point where many of them seem to have almost no recoil at all. Even if you can aim incredibly well, the spread is still going to make it difficult to hit enemies at medium range. Firing off small bursts will definitely improve your aim, but even then, you don't want to just fire away at a distant enemy, since there are very few ammo boxes.[/quote:8e1eb]

That does come off as pretty dumb, so basically anything aside from up close in your face is gonna be a hold down the trigger and hope for the best affair. Doesn't really make a lot of sense, the assault rifles in bfv worked pretty well, had a recoil and could be used to pretty large distances, if what gamespots saying is true they they're even weirder to use than bf-1942.

Wish I had the connection to play it, dial up stinks like eggs.

dr nein 06-06-2005 10:28 PM

That sounds amazingly stupid.

Allah forbid anything but a sniper rifle be useful for killing anyone with less than a mag.

he's probably a beta tester or he has some really huge connections

Doctor Duffy 06-07-2005 02:21 PM

Beta tester...with Xfire on? Maybe he's just trying to show it off?

TonyMontana 06-07-2005 02:24 PM

Pretty childish thing to do...yet extremely fitting in a way I cannot describe.

Possibly two days until demo!

Knowing EA the demo will get delayed for a couple days....I hope not. rock:

Medium range is pretty accurate for rifles, if their medium range is my idea of medium range, and with that hopefully suppressive fire has worth to it at long ranges. I wonder how underpowered the mounted mgs will be also.
