I like those shots - do you run them through any post-proc'ing? Picassa has a really sweet sharpening automation that I think its balls to the wall. . .
The birds we have here are pretty boring (looking). I took these while waiting for the train, and missed it twice because I wasnt paying attention. I like the last one the best. Shot with a D50 as well. . . male house sparrow's... lots of those around here too. Ive just been waiting days to get the pic of the cedar wax wing, everytime i didnt have my camera there was a hugh flock around...so id get me camera, and theyd be gone

This is a very old picture of my wife and kids in DC. Note this was not coverted to BW correctly. It was done via the Paintshop pro's BW converter. I really need to work on this in Photoshop using RGB colors.

On January 26, people from Perth, Australia gathered on a local beach to watch a sky light up with delights near and far. Nearby, fireworks exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm flashed in the distance. Near the image center, though, seen through clouds, was the most unusual sight of all: Comet McNaught. The photogenic comet was so bright that it even remained visible though the din of Earthly flashes. Comet McNaught continues to move out from the Sun and dim, but should remain visible in southern skies with binoculars through the end of this month. The above image is actually a three photograph panorama digitally processed to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework. |
