Someone really needs to create a news station that is placed in some neutral country, like Iceland, that only discusses world events. There are no debates between politicians, nothing, just what is happening. The news staton would only show the biggest catastrophies, and events that are important on a global scale, and no biographies of snipers or opinions of politicians and journalists on the future invasion of Iraq. Noooooooooo.... No, no, no. The news stations always base their coverage of something on what people want to watch the most. It seems that the Americans are very interested in the Palestinian problem, more than other world events; like the hostage situation. The thing is; all news stations are about money, it's all money, so they compete against eachother by showing crap that the most people will want to watch, like a dissection and study of one of the sniper's toenails. This is a perfect example of the failures of capitalism. Thus, it seems like people in the U.S. have no interest in the hostage situation. hake:

Goddam, you people are morons. Just because the U.S news stations don't dedicate their entire network to your overseas plights, doesn't mean "we" don't care or want to know the deal over there. Get over it already jackass. This sniper was an immediate threat to the public of Maryland and Virginia. Thats why it got extensive coverage. For the rest of us in the U.S., there is the internet, newspapers, radio, and local news stations for us to get "world news". CNN isn't the only news station in America.
I've been following the situation in Russia, Iraq and also the India/Pakistan military pull-back. Hey, i even heard of the German tourist in Australia who was eaten by an alligator!! There, you happy now??

Good point Arkan, unfortantally not everyone in america is as resourceful as you. The problem is most Americans a spoon fed their news by the American media.

I tried all the full time news stations. Not just CNN, so before you call me a moron, read the posts. I also watched the local news, and I got the same amount of nothing just like the 24 hour news stations. I want to see movie footage, not a few pictures I would get on a website or in the newspaper. The radio is also pretty useless; sniper, sniper, sniper. And yes, the sniper WAS the immediate threat on the public of Maryland and Virginia.

P.S. Notice that I got the terrorists' picture from the BBC website, so I was reading news about it from the internet, but I still would rather see up to date footage, which I wont get on a website for the next 24 hours or so. Websites don't update as often as tv news stations.

I never watch CNN or ABC or any American staion news else unless I have time. Thank god for Cable.
