why do the isreli's get more sympathy coverage? their jews! the jews support the us government. thus the reason why america supports isreal not the opressed people of palistine.. good ol land of the free helping opress people.
low spark, yeah YOU MADE it your problem, no one invited you to help opress people and get into a holy war. Just like no one invited you to help kuwait, you just did it. neither one had a thing to do with america, but ohh theres a hostage situation that includes your people and you dont give a fuck. you people make ME fucking sick! i hope bush attacks iraq so you can find out what weapons of mass destruction iraq has, FIRST HAND! |
Kind makes you think that the Media is actually run by the National Enquirer editorial staff.[/quote:9ee4b]
Someone really needs to create a news station that is placed in some neutral country, like Iceland, that only discusses world events. There are no debates between politicians, nothing, just what is happening. The news staton would only show the biggest catastrophies, and events that are important on a global scale, and no biographies of snipers or opinions of politicians and journalists on the future invasion of Iraq. BLEH!!! |

[/quote:3886a] Noooooooooo.... No, no, no. The news stations always base their coverage of something on what people want to watch the most. It seems that the Americans are very interested in the Palestinian problem, more than other world events; like the hostage situation. The thing is; all news stations are about money, it's all money, so they compete against eachother by showing crap that the most people will want to watch, like a dissection and study of one of the sniper's toenails. This is a perfect example of the failures of capitalism. Thus, it seems like people in the U.S. have no interest in the hostage situation. hake: |

Mellow out. |
Goddam, you people are morons. Just because the U.S news stations don't dedicate their entire network to your overseas plights, doesn't mean "we" don't care or want to know the deal over there. Get over it already jackass. This sniper was an immediate threat to the public of Maryland and Virginia. Thats why it got extensive coverage. For the rest of us in the U.S., there is the internet, newspapers, radio, and local news stations for us to get "world news". CNN isn't the only news station in America.
I've been following the situation in Russia, Iraq and also the India/Pakistan military pull-back. Hey, i even heard of the German tourist in Australia who was eaten by an alligator!! There, you happy now?? For all you people outside the states, why do you care what we show on the news? |

P.S. Notice that I got the terrorists' picture from the BBC website, so I was reading news about it from the internet, but I still would rather see up to date footage, which I wont get on a website for the next 24 hours or so. Websites don't update as often as tv news stations. |

Stop badgering other Countries and appreciate the fact that you live in a relatively safe enviorment tucked up there in the North. Now........ I get were and why your giving your rant, but unfortunatly we are a tiny number of americans/non-americans that care about world events. Media sells what consumers watch. I've been forced to watch so much of this sniper 'news oOo: ' I have become sick of the TV. For now Im resorting to online sources for my daily new breifing.
I dont get why we freak out when someone kills 10 people, but dont give a fuck when drunk drivers kill hundreds of people a day. America is corrupt. |
I tried all the full time news stations. Not just CNN, so before you call me a moron, read the posts. I also watched the local news, and I got the same amount of nothing just like the 24 hour news stations. I want to see movie footage, not a few pictures I would get on a website or in the newspaper. The radio is also pretty useless; sniper, sniper, sniper. And yes, the sniper WAS the immediate threat on the public of Maryland and Virginia.

(radio news) I find it to be one of the best news stations to receive up to date news. "You give them 22 minutes, they give you the world" wink: |

You gotta admit one thing though, lotsa morons here. |
C'mon Spooge...you know the real reason. Deep down inside, we Americans still hate the Russians deep down to the core. ed:

The ONLY and I mean ONLY relaible source of international English news in the world is BBC news along with their own version of 60 minutes.
I never watch CNN or ABC or any American staion news else unless I have time. Thank god for Cable. |
It's a damn shame we aren't getting more coverage of the hostage situation.
Hey, maybe they'll make full-time coverage one of their demands: kind of get people to understand their cause... And Spooge: sniper this, sniper that... FUCK THE SNIPER. I don't care LOL (inside joke) |
