LOL Uhh... NEIN!! Sorry. I'd like to upgrade the AMD, but my mobo is maxed out. I don't feel like gettting a new one and dealing with all the BS of switching it. Does anyone know why XP recognized the 1800+ as a 1150Mhz? Shouldn't it run closer to 1800Mhz? |

My system as of 01-27-2003
2700+ AMD AthlonXP 333MHz Front Side Bus 384KB On-Die Cache Asus A7N8X NForce2 Motherboard (Non-Deluxe) 1002 Beta 512MB Corsair DDR-400MHz 3200CL2 Platinum Heat Spreader Nvidia Geforce 4 4400TI 128MB Creative Sound Blaster Live Sound Card 30.0 GB 7200rpm Hard Drive 56X CD-ROM Imation 32X8X12 CD-Burner Netgear FA312 network card Antec 400-Watt PS Thermaltake Volcano 7+ Card Cooler And some other large fan Windows XP Pro (SP1) Hey Bane what u saying is correct. AMD uses a different method of rating there CPU's. I believe the way the rate them is how they are compared to an Intel processor. For example a XP2700+ is in fact 2.16GHz i believe, but its "rated" at 2700 because its just as quick as a P4 2700GHz processor. (2.8Ghz to be exact since there is no 2.7GHz P4). So they kinda use this so u know how quick it is compared to an Intel chip. So in reality your 1800 AMD is equivalent to a Intel 1.8Ghz chip, got it? |

So it runs at 1.53Ghz, but performs the same number of operations as a P 1.8Ghz. Got it. Thanks guys. I may have been wrong about the 1.15Ghz, it was recalled from memory tarnished by Superbowl Sunday... |
Geez, you guys must have a lot of money to be getting 3 GHz processors and shit...
