All the registration really gives you is infinite buddies (with the non registered version you only get 4) and a few other things.

You don't need them.

You can't use another person's reg code, either.

I have a pal who registered with lamespy.. the ad after navigating or coming out of a game does go away, but it still takes forever to respond when coming out of a game. Not worth the $$ at all. I have paid for ASE before the trial was over... glad I did, but I had no idea all it did was allow more then 4 friends.
