...but i will say that we have always had n00bs spamming, being irriatting and what not. hell we were all once n00bs trembling as we punched each key stroke and eventually asked a n00b question like how do i change my name ingame. But my observation is since September there have been a massive influx of annoying pricks, wanna bes, and other assorted trash. Im stoic Ed. I will endure....but like Gen. MacArthur...only the real soldiers will fade away... cool:

Don't think I could've said it any better.

The community will be flourishing again when a new title comes out, I think.

And by a new title I don't mean an expansion, such as Spearhead is.

What I mean is: At the moment everybody is satiated. Most problems have been solved, lots of mods and maps are available. Possible problems with mods and maps have been solved as well, mostly.

I believe I will be playing MOHAA off and on for quite some time. I have recently started playing again every once in a while, and I find that using the KAR 98K makes the game refreshing. I used to only use scopes, but now leading the board on obj with a Karbiner is fun. The only thing I really hate about this game now since I quit 4 months ago is that EVERYBODY calls "cheat" and clans kick me from their servers within at least 3 minutes. I'm not the best MOHAA player, hell I'm probably not even in the top 50. I do think I can play with the best of them with any weapon, since I have gone through stages where I use only one weapon exclusively. It first stareted out with the MG, then to the SMG to get to places faster, then to the sniper rifle, and now I like the rifle.

What exactly am I talking about? I really don't know. I just got home from school and am psyched that we don't have baseball practice today. All I know is MOHAA is the first MP game I have played online, and to me has been the funnest and best game....EVER. I have played against n00bs, been a n00b, played with clans, n00b clans, whiney clans, particular clans, offensive clans, noble clans, excellent clans, and even been in some of these clans. The only thing I haven't done is played a lot with OTD (I need to). I wasted away last Summer in my computer room with the fan on medium, a big glass of Coke/Mountain Dew/lemonade at the desk, door closed, and sound jacked up on my headphones, and I loved it. It was suprising to me because I don't even play games much at all, until I bought MOHAA. This was the first game I followed before its release, and I'm glad I did. Spearhead is a different story, but I won't go there.

I registered on these forums because I loved the game so much. Being a n00b here to becoming a jackass has been fun, and hopefully I haven't pissed off too many people. There have been many funny topics here, as well as retarded ones and downright disgusting ones. Bottom line though, I will continue to post here until it dies. Until that day, lets keep on spamming. cool: cool:

I still play MOH, I just uninstalled it cuz I'm waiting for my new PC to be done, then I will reinstall it.

I've noticed this a lot over the last few weeks, partiularly this past one.

I remember when I used to have to reply to 3-4+ threads every time I opened this page. Now I often click the close icon after 5 seconds browsing and that's even after not posting for a day or two.

I put the decline of the community down to two factors:

1) What is there left to talk about anymore?

2) Over-moderation.

Back in the day the busiest forum was always General, followed closely by OT. Now, General is virtually empty and life-less.

Everything that could be talked about has been talked about already in General. This is where point 2 comes in but more on that later.

For a time the war on terror forum was very active but again here everything has been said.

Mods and Skins forum? Lol, yeh ok.

All you have left these days is Off-Topic.

And this is the problem with this site. Even an off-topic topic is questioned to its validity on the Off-Topic forum.

Even with the multitude of topics available in this broad range of possabilities one wonders if it's worth posting at all.

And when it's all been said on the Off-Topic forum then you know it's a community in decline.

This is the busiest MoH:AA community forum that exists so ar as I know but it is also the most infamous for many reasons. Most regulars have moved on or have been banned.

The fact that most topics are like this one (and similar, such as complaints about locking, banning, spam and mods etc) really goes to show the state of it all.

It's my honest opinion that this forum enjoyed the height of its times in the months just before and after the game release date.

Mods here only locked threads about warez and you hardly ever noticed they were mods. They were 100% impartial (except some, but they rarely posted about the actual game itself).

The best aspect of the community was the aa.com server and the long drawn out arguments flames and discussions. The longer the better!

The given rule was that if you didn't like it you didn't read, or post about, it.

These were the days when you would be flamed for cussing a newbie when asking a newbie question.

Today newbies are still cussed but before anyone can say anything the thread is locked for being an old topic.

These forums have seen a lot of ups and downs. It's also been down more often than up biggrin: . But there lies the core of the problem...

All the lockage, strict supervision and restrictions (a lot of which are biased and less-than-impartial) has gained what it was set out to do...

That is... Less posts, less spam, less flames.

Cool, now the forum doesn't crash so often.

Pity there'll be no one around to care anymore.

Those were great points Ydiss. I think we should have a meeting once every week to address the issues here at AA.com.

Ydiss 04-17-2003 05:49 PM

It'd be something, but it'd not stop much, sadly.

I mean... on a forum where even the mods attempt to de-rail threads before they've even started taking off you know you're on to a loser.

Mod_01: "Oh this topic doesn't interest me... [Thought process] 1 - Post spam to belittle it 2 - LOCK 3 - Post "NEIN" to make it look like I'm just an Average Guy (c) with a sense of humour"

true, noctis should never have become a mod, or BJ, they just lock threads for no reason.

And as long as cool cats like me are here, then this forum will forever stay cool. Radical dude oOo:

Drew 04-17-2003 11:41 PM

For reference, I've not locked very many threads at all. And as far as anyone being treated "unfairly." The only person to whom I've ever been "unfair" was ED, and that's because ED was/is supposed to be banned, according to the admin.
