hake: Sad, very sad... hake:
The US government has gone way overboard on censorship. hake: And you say you have a free country, at least in Canada, we're allowed to print words like "old", "blind", "hell", etc. in our textbooks. hake: |
Redhawk, you must not of read the whole article. It's talking about made for Children textbooks that contain great American stories in them, and they censored out Hell. Who gives a Damn?
I can walk over to Borders right now and buy the book " The History of Fucking: Bob Saget Biography" and no one could give a damn. In a few years it'll be happening in Canada, just watch. |
...nevermind.
|
What? Just noticed this, eh Ferich:
"no place in American primary and high school textbooks." It's not just textbooks, music and tv in the states is also much more highly censored than in Canada. Eg: In the US, images of women in thongs are censored on tv, but are not in Canada. |
we dont really need that kind of stuff on tv anyways
|
Screw the "Politically Correct" ways...
|
I agree.
Language on TV here is pretty lax. Shit can be said pretty much any time of the day. I watch american TV and they beep out ass. I always thought that was stupid. I don't know how you guys handle the Osbournes in the states but here its on CTV which pretty much everyone gets at 10:00PM and they don't bleep anything out. Ozzie says Fuck about a million times on that show. I don't think kids need to hear that stuff. I mean I don't really need to hear that, but it is kind of funny when Ozzy says it as every second word. But kids today at 7 stay up till like 1am and watch this stuff. Not to mention all the sex and stuff on TV. |
Okay Jeff, Canada is better than the United States, you win. Here's your trophy, a big fat " Who gives a fuck."

The publishing companies are too afraid to "offend" anyone, so they are the ones employing censorship. |
