[quote="Sargent_Scrotum":ad010]here in canada you can say anything on tv. they dont censor much up here. the public channels can show the sopranoes & the osbornes uncensored. I like it that way. they actully treat people like people. not like children.[/quote:ad010]
hmmm this kanada you speak of? where is it? i would like to go to it and watch television like a normal person |
Stop watching MTV, it's shit anyways.
Problem Solved. |
I think american tv shows too much. Leave that stuff for the pay channels. Leave them to channels that can be locked out by the parents. Some people dont want little jonny hearing shit, damn, fuck, whatever on the same channel that the flintstones come on. And for what? So some 13 year old can get his gangsta attitude on? No thanks. While i use and hear those words all the time, they dont add anything to the conversation. You can see anything you want on US tv, even the money shot, it just costs money.

Canuck TV pwnz.
A few nights ago, I flicked back and forth between "A Bridge Too Far", "Flashpoint" (- starring Jenna Jameson), and "Blade Runner". All uncut and uncensored. Oh Canada...I stand on guard for thee. biggrin: |
Censorship sux so bad. I think in Australia anything goes after 9 30 on free to air networks. I think some guy from SNL was getting interviewed on an Australian talk show and he was like "Can you cuss on TV over here?" and they said "yes" and he just goes "Wow...shit...that felt so good."

and all the dumb conservatives say liberals are all uptight and against "bad" words oOo:
then why does "hippy" Canada have such lax rules on TV the US censoring is just getting worse and worse, especially with "proper" (but warmongering) Christians controlling the white house AND congress. |
Oh yeah, The Osbournes are totally uncensored at 9:30PM on network TV.
Sweet. |

Actually, censorship is getting less and less in the US. Its just that more and more people are pushing the limits of it and forcing the censors to exercise their power. And I have never heard a conservative say a liberal is uptight and against bad words. Not even a dumb one. ed: |

the only bright point about American TV is the pay channels (HBO, Cinemax, the various Encore and Starz channels) sometimes one can find surprising things in the un-ccensored and un-edited-for-time (aka edited so we can cram more fucking commericals down your throat) movies that one never saw in theaters but only on regular TV |
On Friends they don't second out piss, bitch, ass, penis.

they are constantly calling Hillary Clinton "the first bitch" "the first whore", anyone who disagrees with the Bush administration is called a traitor or a communist (or when they feel very colorful a pinko communist), anyone who speaks out against Bush is a liar, etc. |
