Yeah man....Prominently the Maori Battalion though - I know I always rant on about the NZ Natives, but goddamn! They were fierce. They charged whole tank companys with fixed bayonets, and still came out on top.

Someone should make a movie about them - I'll be waiting for that. I've heard fascinating stories about them. Stories that would be perfect for films...

Interesting fact....Maori's pretty much invented Trench Warfare, during the Maori Wars of the nineteenth century.[/quote:8288f]

there is one-buti dont remember what its called--it ws always on "movies in time" every sunday-but they stopped that. In the end they charge an enemy position and the main character is killed-end of movie.

i would love to see a ww2 movie that doesnt glorify all american acts.
sadly i dont think we will every see a movie that doenst portray americans as the heroes of the war

Write a Script. Submit it to the Canadian Hollywood. Problem solved.

I can think of at least Sixty-Nine World War Two movies not involving Americans, and some not involving them 100%. The American movies just have the highest budget, way it works.

Dude - First of all....That's WW1.....Second of all, while it does potray ANZAC troops, it is an Australian movie, about Australian troops....and none of the small cast of New Zealanders were Maoris....Maori people have dark skin.

Oddball 08-09-2003 06:11 AM

Lemme think, Russel Crowe, Ridely Scott. I think this movie is about Lord Nelson? I remember hearing about this. Given that this is set in the 19th Century I think it makes sense.

Innoxx 08-09-2003 06:15 AM

Yeah, it is set in the 19th century.

Why cast Monty and The Desert Fox though?

Maybe some flashback thing or whatever.

Oddball 08-11-2003 04:49 AM

Ah storyboard crap I guess, movies don't seem to make sense until they actually have a solid script to work with.
