Most muzzle loader/black powder guns are in the .50-.55 range. The new breed blackpowder guns can get away with a .45 round due to stronger, rifled barrels, but hte purists dont like them since they arnt quite primative arms anymore. Some states wont let you use the new style stuff during primative arms season.....Just in case you were wondering.
