Same thing happened to me and is still happening. I just dl the free version of norton and it found 119 infected files and was only able to delete 3 of them. So i have 116 infected files on my computer and i dont know how to get rid of them. Also i have this thing from messagebroadcaster that replaces alot of the images on websites with there popups. Like on gamespot.com, all the pictures are replaced with popups. Anyone know how to fix this?[/quote:2edbe]

Tell me exactly what happens because that was what happened to me. If it isnt coolweb search then it needs an exe to pull the trojan out like I just did.

BadScript 01-28-2004 08:20 PM
Holy crap, that thing fixed it Badscript. I love you. Holy crap this is awesome. Thanks Badscript.[/quote:504b3]

Ok. Whenever i go to gamespot(it started happening to fileplanet now too),all the images turn to popups on the site. So i cant click on any of the images or it will bring me to one of their gay sites. Messageboard.com is the one thats hijacking all this shit. So when I use the thing badscript sent it got rid of it until i restarted my computer then it came back. So what exactly do I have to do?

General Cobra 01-29-2004 10:27 AM

K Imma look then Ive been doin this since I found out we are not the only ones fighting trojans and spyware like this.

Its prob an exe to get rid of it. Really though go here and get the free software. http://www.spysweeper.com And scan your entire computer while I look.

General Cobra 01-29-2004 10:40 AM

Messageboard.com - Where is "god?"
... unsubstantial.. no connection..thats not proof enough...God wouldn't send us to
Hell..if so..He is not good...Its a myth..like the trojan horse..you know. ...

these guys are fucking sneaky LOL

Hijack this
http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html
That site is also excellent on useful info and places to go to help you.

I think youre gonna need Hijack this. A program for removal of that kinda thing but i still think Im gonna find something out there that searches for this particular trojan. Is there anything else at all? Like when you boot up does your homepage change or is there a particular popup besides that that comes up over and over?

Bean 2 01-29-2004 10:55 AM

Thats pretty much all its doing is replacing the images with popups. Alot of the time when i try to open links i get an error message and IE closes down. After i use ad-aware this stops, but it starts happening again after i restart. Thanks for your help. Im using that spysweeper thing so hopefully that will help. Im more worried about the trojans then anything else cause norton couldnt get rid of them. Oh yea i forgot, a lil while ago, someone changed my AIM profile which i think is part of the trojan thing.

Yeah I know what u mean. I can't locate anything for messageboard.com but im still looking.

Bean 2 01-29-2004 11:07 AM

Spysweeper has already found one Trojan Horse called PeopleOnPeople. Its still searching but thats the only trojan its found so far.

Well ya never know that might be it because they names never match to what you think it is. When i removed coolwebsearch trojan i had to use the exe extraction twice to make sure it removed it. Just run spysweeper twice and adware once. Also make sure you have updated both.

Bean 2 01-29-2004 11:19 AM

So u think spysweeper will be able to get rid of it cause norton wasnt able too?

General Cobra 01-29-2004 11:23 AM

I dunno really but spy sweeper cleaned my laptop right up. No spyware now or trojans. Make sure you goto IE tools up on your broswer and make sure your privacy is ATLEAST on medium. Cause thats how they usually get in if its low.
