A lot of money from the price of gas goes to tax.

In Canada it's even higher I believe. Something like 50% is tax if I remember correctly.

Global Gas Prices*
(1 gallon=3.8 L)

Most expensive per gallon:

Hong Kong: $5.38
London, England: $5.05
Oslo, Norway: $4.54
Seoul, South Korea: $4.52
Paris, France: $4.28

Least expensive per gallon:

Caracas, Venezuela: $0.40
Jakarta, Indonesia: $0.45
Kuwait City, Kuwait: $0.76
Manama, Bahrain: $0.82
Abu Dhabi, UAE: $0.92

*Prices as of September 2000

but that's for $1.35 per gallon; since 2002 the tax did not increase, oil proces increased some, but I believe most of the increase is going into somebody's bottom line mad:

I say enough is enough, its time to stand up to opec and tell them to fucking lower there gas prices or we're going to take there oil from them by force.

Isnt it ironic that the strongest nation is in the hands of several large opec companies.
Shows you not to piss the Saudis off.

Dude Iraq doesnt have much oil to begin with....thats why they invaded Kuwait back in 91. If you look at Iraqs coastline, you can see that their actual territory of beach is alot smaller in comparison to their neighbors. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the other nations have a shit load of more oil than Iraq.

"Iraq holds more than 112 billion barrels of oil -- the world's second largest proven reserves" eek:

ya the problem for sadam in 91 was not that didnt have alot of oil....he just needed alot more because his current amount was not covering his huge war debt from fighting a 10 year losing war with iran. kuwait just seemed to him like an extremely wealthy and easy target that would solve all of his problems.
