I guess you didn't play Far Cry.
While it isn't on Chrono Trigger's level, it's probaly the best FPS since HL. |
Give me a call when something like chronotrigger can have realistic lighting realistic physics 5:1 audio realistic characters online multiplayer.

I want to know why in a vid for HL2 a scientist is talking to one of the brown aliens you used to kill in HL1 cry:

Color me one of those completely UNDERWHELMED by Half Life 1. Game bored me to tears - quite frankly it's living on hype if'n you ask me. It's not a shitty game, but its not this revolutionary thing people make it out to be.
|
Well i cant remember what games were before it but half life had quick loading time, meaning an uninterrupted story, and the story was pretty cool.
HL also had good Ai, the graphics were some of the best at the time. You could tell teammates to follow you or stayput and you had bunch of weapons. I think what really made it live so long was that it was easy to mod. Compared to FPS games before it, HL was the king. |
I found half life boring as well...FPS is WAY behind the times in terms of stories yet it is revolutionary to have one...pure bullshit.

heh. my post was deleted oOo:

I dunno about you but i prefer to get into a game with the minimum of bs, rpg's do nothing but bore the living fuck out of me, some fps games have stories some dont, either way they don't really need a good story to be fun. Rpg's on the other hand...well theyre boring enough as it is, i suppose the story is the only thing that keeps most people awake while playing them. oOo: |
Thief had an awesome story and was great fps game. Im not a HL fan, so I dont know what to say about those pictures. If it is HL2, it does look like the original HL.

doom 3> hl2
|
While i do think doom 3 will be more impacting, i think HL2 will last longer in terms of gameplay.
