So basically Pitch Black is the end of the series... Well its a pretty shitty ending if you ask me. Personally i think the movie that prequels are based off should be block busters and should warrent people to wanting to learn more about the people involved in the story. Pitch Black was none of those things.

Before this thread turns into a train wreck, I'll set it straight.
Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is the prequel to Pitch Black (Game) Pitch Black Riddick: Dark Fury is the gap between Pitch black and Chronicles (Animated Video) Chronicles of Riddick is the sequel Riddick is not a prequel, and despite what the nerds say, Vin Diesel is not a terrible actor. I didn't like XXX at all, but that wasn't entirely his fault. He was mediocre in Saving Private Ryan, but who cares he was just cannon fodder. He was very good in Boiler Room, and pretty decent in Pitch Black. Granted, in Pitch Black all he had to do is sit there in the dark and say some monotone lines but still it worked. This doesn't mean he can't act, it means that was his interpretation of the character. Fast and the Furious might have been a shitty movie, but Vin wasn't bad in it. Not to mention I respect the guy for being somewhat intelligent, which is a nice change from most of Hollywood today. |
So basically there are 2 live action movies that if i were to watch them back to back, they would only have the main character in common?

There are a couple of other characters that survived in Pitch Black that are in Chronicles.

I guess I should go see Pitch Black or something...
