m6y dads pc had that problem,we replaced his harddrive and it worked fine so try it,i know i know its expensive...i got a 160 gig and a 80 gig in my unit:)

COME to think of it,ur motherboard might be over heated or broken, try looking into that also

Scalping Chief 07-21-2004 07:43 PM

but would'nt that make the whole computer not work, everything else runs fine except for when i try to play games

Inertia 07-21-2004 07:49 PM

i've had the computer for like 1-2 months, and i acidentaly left it on one night and boom, none of my games work and my windows loads slow.
and i dont even think i have payed for the computer yet

Inertia 07-21-2004 07:53 PM

You should be able to get an exchange....depending on who you got it from, but I don't see how leaving the thing on all night would hurt....mine stays on for weeks at a time.

Perhaps something happened that night that you are not aware of...

well the Pc was a POS to begin with, if the thing fucks up cuz u left it on. then wtf? take it back. you should still have a warrenty on the bitch.

Conscript 07-21-2004 08:06 PM

Check if the CPU fan still works..If its a P4 the heat from the fan not being there will active the speed throttleing. Not sure why your CD rom is fucked up..If its a dell or some shit, just take it back.

Short Hand 07-21-2004 08:15 PM

lol its a virus. Ive seen this one in action, first it currupts your graphic card drivers, then destroys your ability for your comp to reckonze any cd rom'son your e drive etc. only way to solve this is to format. Sorry dude. Its not a heat or PSU problem people. Heats strikes once and fucks. so if he is still going its not heat. the psu would boot out any time a high load comeso n the cpu, but only on his games ( so its not the psu) espicially on a new comp. format = only choice. sorry dude. upload your shit to places ifv you wanna save any ps work.

the computer inst a pos though, its good,
and i think i have a complete registry eater virus and i have no clue how to fix it

Short Hand 07-21-2004 08:18 PM

it doesn't have to just be a registry attacking virus, it could be one of many things keep that in mind. format would solve this.
