if good opinions can be heard then bad ones can aswell du spinnst.

Zoner 10-01-2004 08:34 AM

That's fine, if what you said was an opinion about the band. It wasn't. You can hate Dream Theater all you want.

You basically told us to shut up talking about DT, which we have every right to do.

Anyway...

Miscguy 10-01-2004 08:45 AM

Who the fuck is Dream theater and why should i care. Also there name sounds really sissy... Like a girly britney spears CD title sissy.

strvs 10-01-2004 09:03 AM

I respect their musical talent, but it can get extremely corny.

Sometimes it sounds like im listening to a kool-aid commercial.

But some songs on the other hand, are absolutely great.

Nyck 10-01-2004 09:20 AM

All I know is that for awhile I thought you guys were talking about Manchester United.

I was like wtf is this

now I know....and knowing is half the battle.

Please elaborate, sexy.

Put in 3 songs per cd (ROUGHLY).

Here would be my choices, you may need 2 cd's, lol.

A Change of Seasons (A Change of Seasons)
6:00 (Awake)
Erotomania (Awake)
Lie (Awake)
Scarred (Awake)
Lines in the Sand (Falling Into Infinity)
Pull Me Under (Images and Words)
Take the Time (Images and Words)
Under a Glass Moon (Images and Words)
Learning to Live (Images and Words)
Beyond This Life (Scenes from a Memory)
Home (Scenes from a Memory)
The Dance of Eternity (Scenes from a Memory)
The Glass Prison (Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence)
Blind Faith (Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence)
As I Am (Train of Thought)
Stream of Conciousness (Train of Thought)
In The Name of God (Train of Thought)

edit: i ignored their first cd for certain reasons, early DT is totally different, more 80's metal than anything else, with a different singer. Ytse Jam is definitely an amazing instrumental though.

and This Dying Soul isnt that good....put it there if you want...

Good list there. And strvs is right. They have some horribly corny songs. But most of their stuff is amazing. They have so many "one-of-the-best" members of the band. Actually, they all are considered except labrie. Portnoy- Heavy Weight Champion of drums (Middle Weight- Bill Bruford. Light-weight- Mitch Mitchell) SInce you cant really compare portnoys gigantic set playing to the small set of Mitch. Petrucci is amazing. w/ style. Dont care what anyone says. I like his new hair, and his stage presence is awesome. Myung. What can ya say? Seeing the bass solo off Dance of Eternity on the scenes from new york dvd was stunning. Rudess is self explanatory. Teaching at twelve. amazzing.

Whoa, i just realized how long of a post this was, please excuse me.
