Good way to do that is to do a really loose cutout, about 4-5 pixels away from the actual object you're cutting out, feather is by 2 -3 pixels, select inverse, then guassian blur.

done that few times, all just depends on what ya want, although I like the method you said better, , because as you said before, it ffeels more natural/ looks better. |
