Sony cant really spend time on pretty graphics because compared to the xbox and gamecube the ps2 is very limited for graphics.

Graphics still don't make the game. If you want pretty visuals you can just go look outside.

Graphics may not make the game but they are more important than what they were 5 years ago, would you:

(a) want a game with doom 3 style graphics and great gameplay
(b) want a game with pong style graphics and great gameplay.

Obviously a is the way to go, gameplay may draw a player into the game but the first thing you see are the gaphics and if theyre bad even the most "playable" games could be offputting to some.

well if they can do both sure...but lets say i ahve one game with better than average game play, but average graphics...id take it over a game with better than average graphics with average gameplay

Doom 3 is a matter of opinion like any game, listening to reviews is pretty pointless seeing as its one guy with his own opinion on a game.
Anyone can review a game and have an opinion of it, i dont see why places like gamespy and gamespot seem to think theyre any different from everyday gamers.

Would have but i was going more for the 3d accelerated games, software games usually come out lookin like shit when you try to record them.
