i need some help too
I have the Audigy LS ill use the buttocks pic, since mine is similar. when I set mine to 5.1 and do a channel Test, it only detects my right and left speakers. what gives? I still get sound out of the other speakers, but not when it does the test. knowing that, I dont think im getting the quilty surround sound Im suppose to get out of my speakers. and I have the lastest Drivers. I really would like to use my speakers to their Fullest Potential. are there certain settings I should check off? |
Noct, i know you fixed your problem but i'm perplexed as to why you would want to use two sound cards in the same box. Why not just go with one? Are you using both cards at the same time??

Buck.. screw around with your EAX settings. I think what finally did it for me was enabling CMSS 3D.
Arkan.. here is why I use two soundcards. I've got three output mediums: Altec Lansing 5.1 (so-so), an Altec Lansing headset (pretty decent) and a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones. I obviously want the 5.1 speakers on a good card for movies. I don't want to use the Sony headphones for gaming because the sounds can spike sometimes and I really don't want to blow them. So I have a switch on my good card and I just switch to the less expensive card for gaming which has my headset plugged in. I could probably find another switch or something or other that would negate the need for two sound cards, but why bother. I have it working. |
