Yes, I think I know what you mean. They want you to have 3-5 years experience, I think. The only place to gain experience really, is by working for the school you are going to, I guess. oOo:[/quote:fae20]

If you're lucky, they usually want actual work experience in the field which means working for a major company or at least in some type of business environment. A major percentage of IT grads do not end up doing IT work as a profession, due to the low wages and competition. The most important factor is knowing someone that can get your foot in the door. Believe me I've been through all of it and I'm only 23, it takes a lot of work to get ahead in this field.

Although I must say my goal of becoming a sys admin was met much earlier then expected, but where I'm working now is only a spring board to future employment for me. I want more money.

they offer it at my high school as a full course in which you can try to take the test to earn the degree after the 2 years of classes. Hardcore computers was never my thing. My brother took the course and now is majoring in IST (Information Systems Technology)

Arkan 02-03-2005 10:25 PM

aye, now i understand. I have a buddy who "networks" in a major hospital so i guess he dabbles in this shit. Nothing a homeowner needs to know.
