Also check out Hyundai. Very inexpensive but extremely good cars. Most have a decent amount of power and great fuel economy.

With my experience, I don't think you should fork up the money now for an $18,000 car. It just won't help you in the long run. My uncle never bought a new car until he was 40 years old. He saved up his money and then did some investing. Now he owns a million bucks.

Actually, in my opinion go for a civic. I don't care what these idiots say...they're not bad cars. Just don't put any decals on them and you'll be fine. My friend owns a civic and it's not a bad car to drive around. It's been in their family for a pretty long time so that shows the life of the civic.

how much will you lay down? im going to buy a 3 series or m3 in the 10,000-13,000 dollar range but you need to lay some money down so youre not paying a shitload in interest

Attempting to buy a 2001 z24 Cavalier right now. Go for any 2000 + cavalier, prices are at a all time low due to the cobalts luanch. I would reccomend a 2000 + model in order to obtain a ecotec engine in your purchased vehicle. very great "regular" go around cars, not to mention up to 600km on a tank of gas.

5000 to 7000 $ depending on km, model etc. Uusally 5k for a 2000 with 80 000km on it fully loaded.

you could always go for a used audi, the quattro is great for winter driving, or a subaru

I never had any extra work done on the car. I laugh at people during the winter when they get stuck going up hills while I easily make it.

Bimmers own, I owned to own a '94 328i and it was a very fun car to drive around in. I'm thinking of dropping $5,000 for down payment, so I think that should be enough to not get ripped off by the finance.
