No they aren't. Maybe a little better, but Doom 3 is plagued with low res textures.

Pretty much have to be low res because of how theyre rendered, specular\bumpmapping etc, i think each texture gets rendered 7 or more times (because of there being 7 or more layers to a texture) which whores the shit out of the ram on the graphics card.
