I personally know several Japanese people on my university course, and also just generally in my life (Parts of Auckland are FULL of asians) and I am actually yet to meet someone from Japan that plays video games extensively.

Yeah to say it's an asian thing to play long hours of games is fucking retarded. I know plenty of people who've gone hours playing games, and hey maybe for alot of asians in that part of the world it's a release from the everyday, sort of like their weed.
