in DS9 they had an episode where like a killer on the station used some sorta Federation Projecticle weapon that could like transport the bullet through walls or some shit. It was quite cool.

Depends on the gun. Our AK5 (modified FN FNC) makes the bullet "tumble" in the body, in other words the bullet starts rotating (tip tilts down), which causes a realy nasty exit wound, if it exits the body at all.
