I've done a couple projects involving group work, fortunately both projects I was placed in a group with my good hardworking friend, but on both cases our other 2 partners were slackers that didnt care about anything. We just ended up splitting the group work between the two of us and reporting the slackers, to make sure they didnt get a piece of the grade/credit. Must admit on both projects we got a distinction biggrin:

might defeat the purpose, but at least it ensures you get the grade you deserve.

Hard to do if your group mates dont even bother to turn up to class. Besides I wouldnt want someone to get the grade I got for me doing all the work whilst their making coffee.

i JUST got back from presenting our final project for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, i didnt do much in the group over the course of the semester, so I made a sick powerpoint for our presentation

i was bs'ing my part of the presentation itself, but i was the only one who sounded like he knew what he was talking about. the other two presenters sucked fuckin ass, one didnt take it seriously and the other one would pause for like 5 seconds between every fuckin word...we could have had such a beat presentation if i were allowed to just do it all myself.

instead, it makes our group look like we werent prepared, and makes me look like an idiot for grouping with these guys in the first place

There are no excuses, you are only as strong as your weakest link. If this were my tech support/ buisness class, my prof would fail you and tell you tough luck. HAVE a backup to your backup.

same thing happened with me. I got paired with the 2 dumbest kids in my class back about 3 years ago in creating a website on diseases. I ask them to answer 6 questions and send them to me by the next night. Neither of them does it (one guy sends it to me 3 days later, the other forgets), so I ended up doing it all by myself (including the website, paper, presentation, etc.). Got a 98%, so none of us complained.
