ITs great he survived and all but I am going to say it was a lot of his fault. If there is an animal the size of a deer or smaller go ahead and slow down but dont take evasive action over it just take the hit, you have insurance for a reason. IF its a moose or something, Well Ive never swerved for a mosse but Ive locked up the brakes.
Also going 25 mph over the speed limit has a lot of effect on how fast the car will stop in the given distance and his reaction time to the whole thing. And incase anyone was wondering; 50mph = 73 fps and 75mph = 110 fps

yep...point it was an 80k/m zone (50 mph) your buddy was doing 120(75 mph) maybe you shouldnt be jackasses and follow the speed limit, might have had a bit more time to brake for a animal if he was doing 40 km less

also why does it look like the car gets worse as the pics go on. Like the room is more caved in etc.

looks the same to me.... eek:

Well...kinda looks like it is deserved...why go 120 around a corner?

Tripper 08-26-2006 04:19 PM

Meh, I've got no sympathy for someone who was speeding like that....120 in an 80k zone? That's just stupid. Do you have any idea how much that kind of speed increases your stopping time? They have speed limits for reasons like this.

Your friend is one lucky moron.

too right, people who want to drive like that deserve what they get, trouble is they
insist on doing it on public roads where their fuckwittedness puts everyone else in danger.

[quote="Short Hand":f5d6f]it was a 80km/hr zone, he would have had the same fate doing 90 to 100km/hr as anyone else who takes it daily,
not to mention the risk still there @ the speed limit. 4 cars have crashed there in the past 2 years.[/quote:f5d6f]
if everyone knows how bad that road is, how about doing a bit less that the limit....instead of 40km over it? eek:

You dont lift the engine over the car when you pull it out. And judging by the missing front end Ill assume they pulled it forward to get it out and not up. Even if they did do that and the engine did fall on the roof it would not make such a well defined V shape dent but more of a bowl shaped dent.

Your friend is one lucky moron.

Nearly 120km/hr in a 80km/hr zone is NOTHING. People take that turn everyday at the same speed or faster. and he is hardly a moron, he has payed, and done all the work on the car himself, and will now put the engine in a new shell. (EG hatchs are a DIME a dozen.) Maybe you just don't drive enough, or you drive a complete jeloppy.... BUT all I know is it feels like nothing.

HE WAS NOT street racing
HE WAS NOT racing near other pedestrians
HE WAS NOT doing insane speeds.

He WAS simply having a spirited dire enjoying a car he has worked so fucking hard on. BUT you simply do not understand this and you never will Tripper. No contraption of words like piss cunt, fag, shit and or mouth re directed in my way can counter the fact that you have no idea of what is moronic and what is fine.
