Oh GOD i can not tell you how much hockey sucks......its degrading really...

pest 08-28-2002 06:29 AM

I sure do hope so. Then we wont have to put up with that garbage on my tv the rest of the year. Hopefully, if they do strike, it will be the final blow to a dying sport and they will be able to schedule quality sports, like truck pulls and competitive basket weaving.

I'll....pretend.......you....didn't just...say...that.... mad:

I love baseball. I've played it most of my life. But, enough is enough. If they strike, I'll have to think long and hard about supporting anything MLB related.

I hope Alex Rodriguez ends up on the street giving head for coke and quarters.

Ahhhh, it's refreshing to see these people finally pull their head's outta their a$$e$ and get on with the games. I would've hated to see the AL West race end with a strike.

ninty 08-30-2002 03:05 PM

FUCK BASEBALL.

That's all you really need to hear. Football, Basketball, Futbol - all these sports carry with themselves a dignity, and a fucking more GRUELING regime of physicality than BASEBALL (not to mention managing to sell out fucking arenas), and yet they still lace up their boots and get out there when its game time.

Sure BASKETBALL is littered with pistol-whipping, coach-strangling, blow-blowing, girlfriend-murdering fucks - but god damn. They get paid, and boy do they go out there and earn their money.

This isn't fucking about repsect, or fait treatment. How badly can a fucking millionaire be getting treated. If you wanted to toss feces at me for about 3 hours a day, for a baseball season - step right up. I'm still a millionaire when a french model with a poodle tail on is cleaning my shit off.

Hell - I could have her eat it off if I were loaded like these guys.

It's just sick that 200 millionaires are even thinking about striking again.

Tell you what though - BASEBALL strikes...that's it. They're done. This sport cannot and WILL NOT dictate anymore shit to the folks who pay their salaries - the fans.

[edited]

Guess there is no strike. Fuck. This could have taken away the stain that is BASEBALL. We were this close to getting the WWE as the "national pastime" -

very well said

i always thought football was really considered more of a national pastime then baseball, because it is, like you said, carried with more dignity.

Seriously don't even post when you don't even know half the politics of baseball. It's much much more than "us players need lots more money"
Do a little research before you post and sound like a dumbass. Just a heads up for ya.

You're a baseball fan, but I'll still try to respect you for 1 minute and a half while I answer this post -

[quote:704d8]Seriously don't even post when you don't even know half the politics of baseball. It's much much more than "us players need lots more money"

First off - it's not about fucking players right. It's about fucking money. If you think anyone has ever fucking "struck" over ethics you're out of your mind. People strike for TWO reasons; safety on the job - and money. That's it. And I cant tell you the last time I heard some poor ball-player getting clubbed to death by a former disgruntled hot-dog vendor.

[quote:704d8]"It came down to us playing baseball or having our reputations and life ripped by the fans," said Steve Kline, the Cardinals' player representative.

"Baseball would have never been the same if we had walked out."[/quote:704d8]

Even this poor punk seems to realize what the score is. Doesn't matter what the concession/demands are - ::cough::fans::cough:: wouldn't have put up with this shit. Not when the lowest player salary hovers around 200,000 (soon to be higher). Sorry MATEY but it's pretty hard to relate to the POOR, LITTLE MAN who's pulling in 300 g's a year.

So teams get a temporary reprieve on cancellation. Great. Good for them. They only had to risk destroying the American version of the game in the first place.

Well dook on mate.
