[quote="Old Reliable":41798]its really sad you dn't know what the battle of the bulge was, yet you post on the forum that deals with a WW 2 game[/quote:41798]
Sorry to tell you, but I didn't know the exact details about the battle, either. I knew who was in it, and where it took place, but that's about it. So, please don't go jumping down people's throats. |

maybe for the better, my first impulse was to write a 5-6 page essay on teh Battle of the Bulge, I thought no one would bother to read such a rant anyways so I said some stupid thing about how schools are crap now instead. |
I'm not flaming, Zoner. I am sticking up for someone.
There is absolutely no need to post in the way Old Reliable did and I am starting to get pissed off with seeing it here. If someone posts rudely or asks a stupid question or spams questions then fine, I don't see anything wrong with the sarcastic comments I see. After all being too "PC" is boring. But, when someone takes the time to ask a question (especially one that is hardly ever asked) in an adult and respectful manner and someone comes here, reads the question and spams with a one sentance put-down it pisses me off. It's even worse when that person doesn't apologise and just starts cussing the thread author's intelligence with poorly written English and usage of words in the wrong context. Ignorance is not a lack of intelligence, especially when someone who is ignorant is willing to ask questions to learn and erradicate their ignorance. Lack of intelligence can be displayed in many ways, as Mr Reliable has so eloquently portrayed. Damn right I'll stick up for Swill. By his posting his question here instead of using google I have learnt something as would a number of other people. How crap would it be if every single person who asked a question on these forums was told to "Search google" and nothing else? Interesting forums they would be. I've said what I think and I'll leave it at that. |
nice forum digging. the thinge people do just to start flame wars hake:

The reason I know about the Battle of the Buldge, for forty three years all my dad would tell me about his expierence in WWII, was that he was in the Battle of the Buldge, he would not tell me what happened, just that he was there. He didn't tell me any detials until he was about 80, and then what he did tell me wasn't much,
He said his plattoon was on the front line when the Germans started thier offensive. They knew that the were out manned, and out gunned immediatie, and his second leutenant to him to get everyone and get the hell out. So they started telling everyone to retreat. As they moved back they relized that a guy named Willie was missing. I guess Willie was my dad buddy or something. But for whatever reason my dad said he strated to freak because Willie was back with Germans. But he did not go back, he retreated with the rest of the platoon, He said that they retreated about 4 or 5 miles and then the made a stand. BTW Willie did show up a couple of days later. He had gotten seperated and had retreated with another unit. Thats about all I got out of him. He really did not like talking about the war. since I've learned about Willie, I wish I would have asked my dad if Willie made it through the war. |
