The kids here miss out on so much childhood, it's pretty sad really. They all turn into robots that make money, and they do the strangest things for fun. But fun is a new thing here, not many people are in to it oOo: |
Yeah, its totally different over there i'm sure.
I remember hearing that some Japanese students go to school on Saturday and things like that. |
Quote:
You wouldn't believe the schedule of the average kid. Wake up at 5am, study and go to school by 7am, finish school at 5pm, go to extra class at 6pm, come home at 9pm, do homework & study. Plus they go to school on Saturday mornings and study all day sunday... poor bastards |
Don't some of them also throw their asses out of 8-story windows when they get a 'B' Grade?

I had a paper route but got fired from it
|
I'm a Computer / Network Specialist at a College. I also do side jobs with a satellite college here in town for $50 /hr. It's a pretty sweet deal.
|
Software testing right now. I'm trained and experienced as a software/web usability specialist.

I'm a History Student, B.A. also a Midshipman in the Royal Navy Reserve and a part time security guard.

I work for Powergen, Europe's biggest gas and electricity supplier (since the E:on takeover).
At the moment I am co-ordinating the team sorting out a huge Direct Debit problem we've had this past 2 weeks but normally I work on the Debt collection team. So, if you're in the UK and with Powergen for gas or electricity and you owe us money, I could very well be the bastard who sends the boys out to cut you off biggrin: It's a decent salary and the people are great. I've worked at Burger King (first ever job hehe) and as a Security guard in all sorts of places. Most notably the American Embassy in London, alongside the US marines that are posted out there. Those marines certainly know how to throw a party. |
I work for a place called Texas Electrolysis Supply. Basically, I just make changes to the catalog and handle emails. But on most days I don't have any work to do, so I started the Office Depot account to get some laughs and pass the time.
|
You're office depot?
That guy is a fag. |
Yes...that was the point.
well, i dunno about that... but
last week, a 12 year old kid jumped off his school's roof after graduating.... [/quote:85d19] Just wondering if some of the stories I've heard are true, about the student's suicide rate and such. As for myself, I'm primarily a Sous Chef at an Italian Rest. Every other Sun I bartend during the day, and sometimes actually Wait my own tables. That's always fun, especially when I walk out of the kitchen, chef coat splattered with various red sauces, looking like I just got of surgery, a la MASH, and ask the patrons, "So what can I whack up, I mean whip up for you today?" |
Wouldnt you if you studied al but like 5 hours of the week and got less than a 90 on something? I would mess up the person who gave me an 80 if I was these kids. Its sad what they have to do. [/quote:1d800]
Maybe. Considering the pressure those kids are under, even 6 yr olds, something's got to give, right? And yes, it's VERY sad what the poor bastards have to go through to get ahead. |

[quote"Bazooka_Joe"]I have 2 MOS's. I went to basic as a Scout and got my 19D, then went to the two week mortar school at Fort Dix, NJ and got my secondary MOS, 11C. 11B is just plain grunt infantry.
Ah yes, you are correct. It has been a few years. I shoulda known that though, some of my best friends were in the Mortar Platoon. Curious that you were able to secure a second MOS. Maybe it's different for No-Go's ( evil: ) or Reserve's. During my time in Active Duty, I'd never heard of or met an individual that held two MOS's simultaneously. You could request going to AIT for a different one, but had to give up your current MOS. |

But, when I found out my dad was a mortarman when he was in the service, I wanted to be one too. So, I put in a request to change my platoon, but I needed to goto school first, so I did. So now, I have a primary and secondary MOS. |
