Vets are people who have registered and posted during the summer of 2001 (May-August).

The only people that I remember posting here during that summer are Gerard, Tripper, and Solidus.

Most people here from late 2001/early 2002 understood this as being the true definition of a vet as well, but apparently with the overtaking of newcomers this has changed. But to those of us who religiously played the demo and were a part of the community during that time, that's still the TRUE definition of a vet.

Heh, seems like everyone has a sliding scale that defines "vet" as somewhere shortly after they registered.

I'm just lucky I got in on the dog-cheese exemption.

Honestly, the best way to become a mod is to never ask for it, or hint that you want it.

This ensures that if you do get offered it, it will be because you're wanted there.

I see a lot of people say recently "Am I respected?" in threads like these.

If you have to ask, the answer is likely "no".

Any other vets remember when the posts here used to be HUGE, with detailed intelligent weird debates.

Since the game died away and more n00bs came into the picture for little reason other then to say they are a 'General of the army', this forum has weakened, diluted and generally been kinda worthless

Then again I guess specifically themed forums and websites alike suffer the same fate all the time.

..Who knows though, maybe Pacific Assault might pump a little life into this site, get it movin again.

Nowadays, it's based on how you're recognised, and respected....But the original meaning of the term still applies.....Which is the small group of d00ds that were around from the beginning of the site, and all the months of that summer, in 2001...
