Stfu dude who likes the guy from the white striples, youve clearly never played a note in your life, the guy sucks. Moving on.
2 Best rythem players of the 80's: Theyre drunk off their asses but those guys could riff. Scott Ian is not forgotten. |

For the idiots in the crowd, the guitarists i posted were: John Petrucci (Dream Theater) Steve Vai Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai and Trey (im not gonna attempt to spell his last name) from Phish. ANGUS YOUNG WAS A TERRIBLE GUITARIST. I cant STAND him. And yea, Mr. Levinstien, Hetfield and Mustaine were pretty awesome rhythm guitarists. My friends band just covered metal songs with his band at the Battle of the Bands at my highschool. They covered: Megadeth-Rust in Peace...Polaris Black Sabbath-Fairies with Boots Led Zeppelin-Black Dog Metallica-Master of Puppets They've played plenty of shows at clubs, I've seen them multiple times. They've covered: Iron Maiden- The Trooper Slayer- Seasons in the Abyss, Raining Blood Black Sabbath- War Pigs, Paranoid Jimi Hendrix-Fire plus 3 originals which kick ass. every note of all those songs. My friend (lead/rhythm guitar) who is a sophomore in highschool has been playing since he was 5, thats 10 years, he is amazing. with all that said, i hate ignorant people. |
Okay, here's my list: Hendrix, Page , and Clapton and the best of those has got to be;

theres one guitarist everyone forgets, who's one of my favourites, and one of the main reasons i started playing guitar about 7yrs ago. his solos on the show must go one are some of my favourites of any song. and he's probably the only person to ever play the national anthem on guitar while standing on the roof of buckingham palace:
my favourite guitarists in order are: adrian smith and dave murray (saw these with the rest of IM about 2 months ago at the NEC): steve vai: randy rhoads: plus satch, janick gers, iommi (another reason i started playing guitar), malmsteen, aswell as eric johnson, paul gilbert and roy z guitarists i dont like are hendrix (i know he was a great guitarist, but i dont like him) and hammett (possibly the most overrated metal guitarist in history) |

My old guitar teacher, maybe not the most talent ever, but the best all around package, heh that guys was so funny. biggrin:
I would say John Fahey, that guy was awsome. Even if you do not like that type of music you have to give that guy some credit. |
Actually, now that I think of it, the best guitar player I've ever been in the same room with was my friend from University, Casey.
Man, that dude was a freak of nature. He'd sit down and play the solo from "Mr. Crowley" and chat with you like he wasn't playing at all. A total phenom. He recorded awesome cover tunes on his 4-track too. He did a sweet version of "Bloodsucker" by Deep Purple. My fave from him was "2000 Man"...he nailed Ace Frehley's licks and vocals. |
