I'm big into jazz and I mostly like them as musicians because they all know theory behind chords and countless modes/scales/cliches/phrases that they use in improvisations. Pat Metheny is jazz, and he's amazing, check him out. i like Dream Theater because their music is in-depth, complex, meaningful, and incredibly talented. check em both out.
