The only thing I have ever fired is a Ruger (Yeah, Ruger, not Luger) .22. Cheap little pistol, the most common weapon used for murder.

he doesnt understand, hes Canadian[/quote:52886] Speaking of Canadians...is it legal to have two 1861 Enfields? Are they registered? I know when the boys in England had to turn them in it didn't matter if it was a gold plated 1861 black powder revolver. It had to be mashed to pulp. |

Nope. They have to be discharged to be legal I believe...one of them can still shoot the other cannot. And no they arne't registered I don't think. |
... or you get a prohibited license, which isn't easy to acquire... or so I've heard.
|
Ok, here's my .02
I have 3 hand guns and one shottie: Ruger GP-100 .357 cal Sig Sauer P-228 9mm Sig Sauer P-239 .40 cal Mossberg .20 Ga. I recommend the .40 round for self defense. I'd recommend either a Sig Sauer or Glock in that caliber. If you want to go with the .45, then i'd recommend a Kimber....very nice gun. |
How are the Para Ordinance .45's? I'm thinking of getting myself one.
|
i want a 12 guage
|
Be sure the cartridges you're carrying fit the penis
you're carrying. It has been known to happen that a hunter with a 12-gauge penis will accidentally try to load a 20-gauge shell; the smaller shell drops through the penis and lodges a few inches down the barrel, and the guy may in the excitement of the hunt think that he must have dropped the cartridge (his mind is playing tricks on him), load a 12-gauge round on top of it... If you're *lucky* you'll just end up blind. More likely dead. |
oOo: forget the caliber of your gun...

I use a Ruger super blackhawk 44 mag. 8" barrel. 240 grain hollow point bullet. Its a fairly big frame but makes quite an impression when it clears its throat. Also fairly expencive to shoot but i sleep better knowing its within arms reach.

Then for once I "AM" glad to be Canadian" and not understand the thrill of owning a peice of machinery with only one purpose. EDIT. -I have no problem with people owning certain firearms, such as a rifle. What I do have a problem with is someone owning a automatic weapon, or an Assault rifle. |
we have "3,800,000 firearms owners
11,000,000 firearms" in canada and thats alot seeing how our population is only about 36 million. i dont think the fact that someone likes to shoot off a gun is exclucivley american. thats like saying only an american can play football, or only canadians can play hockey. sports are not bound to cultures ans countries |
I own a few, but my fav is my CZ52 7.62x25 pistol, neat gun.

I went to The Gun Shop in Olathe today, to ask about those Chinese pistols, and was told they were all on the banned list here in the States.
|
Could you be any vaguer, please ? Details would be appreciated if I am to make
an informed decision. |
I dont own any, being a kid myself, with two parents and two younger sisters...
My dad's friend owns a Winchester, though. I clicked the trigger a couple of times, never got to fire it. |
[quote:082e7]Its launch on the civilian market, purpoted for the 2003, has been delayed when the Bush Administration has banned for 2 years all NORINCO products from being imported in the United States.[/quote:082e7]
Apparently, the ban was POLITICAL. Johnj, do you have additional information or did he just tell you "no, they're banned" ? |
Details, Wednesday 2:30pm, I was wasting time in between service calls, so I stopped in at a local gun shop called "The Gun Shop" in Olathe KS. (It would take too long to drive to "The Bullet Hole" in Overland Park KS) The short pump 12 gauge (quail gun) are the first I look at. Both the new Norincos are there, but also a Remington, an EXACT copy. The Remington is a used gun, and $25.00 more than the new Norincos. I ask Don (behind the counter) if he has checked out the Norincos to have an opinion on them, and he says "We sold 3 of them so far." I walked over to the pistol case when in walked in a tall man and slightly shorter woman. They joined me at the pistol display case and immediately inquired about a GLOCK pistol for the lady. The salesman Bob showed them the selection of new and used GLOCK pistols and began to pull GLOCKs out of the case (checking the breech each time) until the couple asked about the use of a safety. I asked to look at a CZ-75 and an E.A.A. Witness while Bob explained about the trigger on the GLOCKs, which seemed to alarm the woman. Then Bob suggested they look at pistols that had safeties. I asked Bob If I could acquire a new Norinco P-35 (Browning Hi-Power) and Bob said [url=http://www.marstar.ca/Norinco/pistols.htm:8c0ad]these[/url:8c0ad] pistols were currently banned from importation to the United States. Some pistols did make it into the States before the ban, and could (when available) be had. Bob turned toward the couple while I looked at my phone for the time and then I turned to the door, because I had to get to ACE Hardware at 3:30 to meet with them about the phone line that keeps cutting of in the middle of every important call, but never when I fucking am testing it. I think it was better vaguer.

It seems ppl still like paying for name brands when similar performance (for target shooting anyway) can be bought for cheaper. Alright, thanks for the information Johnny. |
I went back and bought that Remington. It is a Remington 870 22in 12ga and one nice shotgun. I think some clay targets in this area better watch out. And just to let you know, I didn't pass the instant check. The reason is I had top secret clearance when I was in the Marines, and because of that I will never pass the instant check. I paid for the gun on Thursday and was able to pick it up on Monday.
