|
I think he lives with his "Gremma" (grandma)

Well...imo if the kid truly believes earrings are cool to wear (I can't see how though) he should have every right to bitch at the teacher.
It is no different from getting mad if he choose to wear blue instead of green or something...like it is an earring...:| gay...but still just an earring... fuck it seems people are more leniant to guns there than earrings. |

he also said in the 2nd post that earrings are not allowed to be worn in school.
|
Pyro, the kid didnt have a gun..he had an earring. He broke the school rule, he had to be punished.
|
So the school is sexist...girls can wear earrings but guys can't? Or are girls not allowed too?

Besides, if its a school rule, theres nothing you can do about it...i mean schools in Canada do have rules right? |

Kids sounds like a dumbass, doesnt really matter if it was an earing, i bet that if the teacher had asked him to study or take the gum out of his mouth, he would have said almost the same thing. tough spot for a teacher, cause what are they supposed to do in that situation? sending kids to the office doesnt do anything. kids like this are one of the reasons why i gave up on becoming a teacher.
|
I would personally be worried about not only this kid, but others like him.
From the two examples given, the kid is a loose cannon...and in todays high schools, that is a much more dangerous thing. Sure I remember guys getting into it with a teacher, or tormenting the kid infront of you, but from whats been posted this kid sounds dangerous. I say that because of the area discription given along with the almost immediate move by the student to be outwardly violent towards authority. I'm no shrink, and I understand that teens do rebel...hell, I did my share, but I wouldn't find the whole ordeal quite so "funny". Just my thoughts.... |
Was that supposed to be funny, or is this serious?
Stuff like that happens alot...my school happens to be split in different edumacation levels.. it goes.. Regular....black kids High Strides...rich white kids (me) Highly Gifted & Talented ... Goths, geeks, and lots of Mexicans (wtf?) |

Yeah, we had a similar presentaion at our school and the student body acted like idiots. But last years grad ceremony (I made a thread doing something with grad speakers) Romeo Daillere came in. Although I was not there to see it, teachers told me about how the students acted, he talked about witnessing the genocide and the other killings he witnessed. And grads were laughing and talking with one another, giving the finger and expressing other rude gestures across the crowd. Here is this man talking about extreme violence to the next generation of "world leaders" if you will and they are showing the least bit of interest and instead acting retarded. And these are grads 18 year olds...you would expect maturaity out of then but it is far from sight...cant wait to see what the future has in store.
|
Yea tell me about it, kids were actually going as far as to say things like "i cant wait for this weekend so i can go drink and drive." Sick. I honestly felt like smacking a few of my friends. The presentation was so powerful, this woman was in tears. Bright future, indeed.

You think that’s bad Mr.strvs...
When I was in eighth grade we had two holocaust survivors come in and talk to us in the gym and both of these gentlemen were elderly and at one point one of them started sobbing during his story and he was sat down and other one told his story and I was literally in tears, and I've never cried in front of anyone I know before so basically it was powerful stuff. As we were leaving the gym I overheard a group of kids saying "It's a fucking shame they didn't kill them off so we wouldn't have to sit through that bullshit." If you have ever experienced pure, absolute anger before you'll understand how angry I became, if I had any blunt, sharp object with me I would have gone biblical on them. I still chewed them out right there but that isn’t the kind of retribution I was going for. |

in my old school, facial peircings were not allowed. stupid:

I don't think the teacher handled the matter properly. The "gang symbol" bullshit just made the matter worse. If I were put into the position I would just ask him to remove the ear ring because it's against the rule, and it's not up to us to decide nor am I interested in discussing the rules at the moment. If he refuses to remove the ear ring, send him to the office - yeah it does him no harm but I don't wanna harm him either. Send him to the office and let the people who are paid to handle these situations handle the situation, I'm only a teacher... then again what do I know I am no fucking teacher, never been w/ a teacher even... biggrin:
That said, back in the days when I was in high school, we curse exceedingly at one another, we fight other kids almost every other day, we smoke we drink we horse around - outside the classroom! Not in our wildest dream would we curse directly at our teacher during a class - not that we were afraid of detentions and suspensions, those are pure fun, but I guess it was because our parents taught us to respect. Kids these days... annoy: |
We had some Navajo indians come in and show some of their culture to us. I mean, it was boring yeah, but at the end this redneck asshole walks out and says
"FUCKING FOREIGNERS!" oOo: |

How does that make me racist? I didnt make up how the school should be split up, thats how IT IS. As for the Mexican thing...well, dont make me get into a hissy-fit about it, because Im obviously going to sound pretty racist when I say this, but Mexicans are often pretty dumb. I just find it real strange that there is just so many in the smartest group at school. |
