EASTON, PA was the richest city in America all the way up till the Railroad construction boom in the mid/late 1800's. It was supposed to be the New York of America, but the railroads pushed things out. George Washington and a bunch of other big political men stayed in Easton as they traveled to Philadelphia. Easton was the 2nd place the Declaration of Independence was publically read at. We host the national canal museum oOo: , Crayola Crayon factory. The highschool has 3,200 students in it with a large group of Puerto Ricans, African Americans, and Whites. In the inner city part of Easton, gang activity is high. Many kids that get expelled from their schools in the Bronx or other NY city areas get sent to our district for some reason. There usually are 1 or 2 deaths a year of highschool students caused by fatal crashes that involve alcohol...one of the reasons why I've stayed away from it. We have Lafayette College in our town that is considered one of the best private/smaller schools in the nation. Uh, there's A LOT of tradition involved in the town. Every Thankgiving day there is a highschool football rivalry with Philipsburg, NJ. It's the oldest high school football rivalry in the nation and has been televised on ESPN and ESPN2 a few times. People from all over the country come to see it in Lafayette's stadium. You have 85 year old men cheering for the team that they played on back in highschool. Pretty neat if you ask me. The highschool is in the top 100 schools for Music (including private schools as well). There is a dense inner city and then has branches of suburbs that include Palmer Township, Forks Township, Southside, College Hill, and Stone's Crossing. It's a nice place to grow up

100+ days

the small town of washington NH, and i MEAN small under 1000 in the summer and likely under 500 in the winter. its quite most of the time, fall gets aggrivating with leaf peepers. Hot and very humid in the summer, and very cold and snowy in the winter....but this summer all its down is RAIN, in april we more than doubles the previous precipitation record from the YEAR of 1984

Canton, Ohio.
Pro Football Hall of Fame. Lots of construction. Shitty weather/news telling you the weather. One of the most sutt [sp?] filled places in USA thanks to 1 oil plant, various other large factories and Timken Steel. Lots of robbery suprisingly. A few pretty bad areas and a bunch of rich communities. Other than the changes in weather, its not to bad. |
In America:
South Side Chicago - -Tons of whitesox fans. -Racially diverse schools, my highschool was 50% Black, 25% White, 15% Latino, 5% European, 5% Asian I live about 10 minutes away from the really bad ghetto, where you are bound to get shot and mugged at night, or even during the day. I'm about 30-40 minutes away from Downtown Chicago tho, depending on the traffic, I just take Cicero Ave North to I-55 and head to Lake Shore Drive. The only Under-21 club around my place is Zero Gravity, which is a Polak club, but some Lithuanians go there. Its okay when you go in for free, other than that it sucks. In Lithuania: Kaunas - -Lots of violence -No significant racial diversity. 90% White (Lithuanian), 5% Arab (Kazakstan, Armenia, etc. immigrants), 5% Asian Immigrant. Maybe a total of 10 black students from France or England total in the whole country. I grew up near the Nemunas River in Kaunas, which is the largest city in Lithuania. The crime rate and violence there is double than that of even the worst ghettos of America. Park your car in the wrong neighborhood, you wont even see it stripped and on cinderblocks, it will be gone. There are 5th graders in gangs. Cops are corrupt, slip em a bribe and they will let you get away with murder. Other than that, it is a very clean city, has very good historical sites. There is the Kaunas Castle that has stood since medieval times. Overall it isnt a vacation spot, but it is livable. Here is a shot of Kaunas from the river Nemunas. small. lots of cows and german rednecks.

I said Denver sucks, but I forgot Colfax - the only reason to like the town is that street, it's the only place in Denver that has any personality. Everything else is yuppie shit.
|
Morgantown is a great little city whos population doubles when the students come in each fall. Pretty much the greatest part of the town is just the love for the state. I work tech support for WVU in a building on the waterfront. It is a very beautiful city but the parking sucks.

Plymouth, Massachusetts. Boring as shit.

Im north of Detroit about 1 1/2 hours. Its nothing but nice. Trees everywhere, lakes everywhere. You cant be more than 2 miles away from a lake in Michigan no matter where you stand. Not much traffic compared to when I lived in the Detroit area. I love it up here much more than the suburbs of Dtown. I can hunt, fish or just take a walk in the woods without going far at all. good schools and not much crime although my car got broken into 2 weeks ago (I didnt lock it, Doh!) The thing I like the most is we are surrounded by woods. Its great if your an outdoorsman. The auto companies are laying off left and right but it doesnt effect my job so I should be fine. I am in a recession proof business. (hip/knee replacement-people fall all the time!)

"Once vibrant, the downtown area has been in decline in recent years and presently struggles with an elevated crime rate. As of early 2006, the City has seen a large increase in criminal shootings. The City's budget woes and a disfunctional police/union and police racial/political relationship are widely blamed." "The economic conditions of the City of Saginaw make up another significant area of concern. The decline of manufacturing has resulted in high rates of unemployment. There has been a decline in the values of properties in the city, which has shrunk the amount the city is able to collect through property taxes. Saginaw has experienced a significant rate of crime activity while at the same time being forced to decrease the size of its police department. Overall, the number of employees and size and scope of city government is now nearly half of its level during the 1970s." That about sums it up. Noteables: Stevie Wonder, musician Serena Williams, tennis player Jason Richardson, NBA Kenyon Martin, NBA Anthony Roberson, SEC freshman of the year Robert G. Heft, designer of current American flag |
I forgot to mention....
Cranford, NJ, where I live has been in many movies... * Several episodes in the third season of the popular 1990's television show, The Adventures of Pete & Pete were filmed in Cranford. One such episode was shot at Cranford's Orange Avenue Pool. * Cranford is the setting of the 2005 film, Guess Who starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher. and parts of Garden State was filmed in Cranford. When Zach Braff drives his motorcycle with Natalie Portman and Natalie Portman's house are all in Cranford. |
I live in NYC, to be more precise, lower Manhattan. It's usually pretty tame here, unlike Times Square. I live in front of the East River, so....I guess I have a nice view. There's barely any crime around here, but I don't really like the people who live in this neighborhood. They consist of old black and spanish people who love to fucking gossip about anything and everything that goes on here. oOo:

Where I live the pop. is about 30K, I live in "Tabaco Country" (but slowly become other usefull crops other than tabaco) Every summer the farmers bring a shit load of Jamacains and Mexicans to our town. On the weekends it is imposible to buy anything in the groucery store because of all the Jamacains and Mexicans. (One night I will take pictures to show you what I mean, Maybe this weekend)
Oh, and when the Jamacains and Mexicans come to my town, all the fat chicks get all dressed up and hit the town. Its funny because you see all these fat chicks with black childern. (there are not to many blacks in my town, I cant even recall the last time a saw a black guy in my town that wasnt a migrant <-(sp?) worker. But the Jamacains and Mexicans are really cool, really layed back, fun to talk to. Im about 45minutes from any mayjor "city" (Brantford, and Hamilton) I do all of my shopping in those citys. My town sucks! [url:bb376]http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=simcoe%20ontario&ndsp=18&svnum=10&hl=en&lr= &sa=N&tab=il[/url:bb376] |
