any German tank is a Panzer, but a Panzer is not a type of German tank. Like an F-4U Corsair is a fighter but if you were a squadron commander asking for replacements you would say "I need 3 F-4Us" or "I need 3 Corsairs" not "I need 3 fighters", your Marines might get stuck with brewster Buffaloes! Panzer is a generic term for any tank (in the German language), however if you spotted a tank you would try to be more specific. (because while both a T-40 tankette and a JS-2 are both tanks, the Germans would hurt a lot more if they encountered a JS-2) Any of this making sense to any of you??? |
he knows that
