i think AA.com should pick up on a new game, MOH:AA is getting old and when a game gets old it loses alot of players very quick
AA.com should go to a game that will be a big hit like DOOM 3

then this place will be rocken like its 1999

but i dont own this site so it stays with the ol MOH

This place is going to shit, but i'll go down with the site like a captain and his ship. People like this Sclass guy are the ones who are fucking over the site. When they've see a thread that looks similar to one they've seen before they scream "N()()B" or even invade other peoples thread (well respected people like Rudedog) and mock them. Oh well i'll try my best and hope others too will keep these kind of people at bay.

I mean... on a forum where even the mods attempt to de-rail threads before they've even started taking off you know you're on to a loser.

Mod_01: "Oh this topic doesn't interest me... [Thought process] 1 - Post spam to belittle it 2 - LOCK 3 - Post "NEIN" to make it look like I'm just an Average Guy (c) with a sense of humour"

I resent that. cry:

You can resent it if you like, although it wasn't really aimed at you.

The last part (NEIN) I added because I think it's starting to get old and it's sad that everyone is resigned to it.

I personally have never been treated badly by any mod but that's not the point.

My point is that there is a visible decline to this site's popularity and that there are discernable differences that I think have impacted on that.

You becoming a mod really isn't one of them. The issues stem from a long way back.

This forum will enjoy a brief boost when PA is released. Lots of new topics about how crap/awesome it is, new exploits, new cheats, new mods and flame wars and then it'll start to fade again. There's a small chance that EA will get it right and inject a new surge of life to the community, but based on their track record since taking over from 2015 I seriously doubt it.

This decline is not purely down to mods lockage and restrictions but the difference to the forums is. The attitude of people here is generally very negative towards mods. It never used to be... Ever.

You should know, you've been here longer than me.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again...as soon as I am IP Banned or deleted or whatever - a name ban dont mean shit to me, hence the "#127".

That being said, I cant see myself posting much here in the coming months, I've got a full plate to keep myself occupied. Of course if there is a particularly good oppurtunity to make a smart ass comment then I'll of course come out of lurking.

YDISS - once again succint and to the point(s). I remember being frustrated that a thread I was into, would get swallowed up in activity and sent to he next page - oftentimes in the same day. And while it is true alot of it has to do with MOH being opened and gutted, it is attributable to the attitudes of the way things are here. Sadly, nothing WILL change.

And keep updating the MAP thread. I still think it should be made a stick, and you should detail some of the trouble, and techniques you're using to make the map great.

Ydiss 04-18-2003 10:24 PM

I'll be updating it tonight. The map's almost done.

Once it's completed I'll probably start a new thread detailing the making of it. I don't think it's worth bringing the original thread up again because no one reads through all the pages and it changed topic mid-way through.

Anyway, this time I've had very few obsticles. I came across all of those when I made xfire... Windows, doors, scripting, objectives, missing faces (through rotation abuse) how to use caulk, how to use detail brushes to keep vis data down, how to scale textures, how to allign textures, how to use the bloody program and so on.

All issues I don't have to spend whole nights addressing anymore (it took me a week to work out why my map was crashng in compile due to my vis data file being over 2.9mb - Average size for a DM map should be no more than 2-400k). So mapping is as easy as think, point, click, test now.

Took me more than 5 months to get to that stage, though...

If the demand is there I'll keep making maps after this one.. It's been a lot less painful and a lot more fun.

Yep, that sure is gonna get you unbanned, although if I were you I would just start posting under a new name.
