because that ram is shitty

no modern apps even use 1gb, let alone 2
High quality 1gb for the same price would work faster, lower timings>senseless amounts I could get 1gb of Hyper X, XMS, Mush Lvl2 or Mush 222 that would perform better than 2gb of your shit for the same or less.

unless you plan to run 400 windows of PS, IE, and game at the same time your pissing away money.

Also how fucking dumb are you w/ the 3200 thing?

dude everyone here knows what im talking about but you, so im done w/ this.

you dont even know what kind of RAM i have, except for the fact that its Dual Channel. and as a matter of fact, i had 1 gig of ram in my old pc, and now with this amound of memory, i have noticed a shitload of improvement in games such as SWG. i used to get 5fps in there with my 9800, now i get 29fps almost constantly.

and maybe i havent learned as much about fucking memory as you have, i dont really care. and im sorry that you guys cannot afford this machine, but i can. if thats such a problem, then dont bother posting in my thread. if you think i pissed away money then again, thats your problem. as I DO NOT.

like i said, i dont really know everything about memory, because i dont sit at my computer all day reading shit. i have a life too. instead of being a fucking jackass and shitting on my thread, you could have either said "Nice system" or not even fucking posted here at all. last time i checked, it might have changed with the FX series, but with my old 2800+...the fastest memory it supported was PC3200, and that was with a little overclocking.

until you build 2 of these uber-pc's for $3500, you can just sit down and shut up, because im happy with this machine and all i can say is i couldn't ask for anything better, except for the video card. i have not noticed one bit of lag in anygame i've played on here so far, and thats with max graphics, max AA and AF. even on Far Cry, i dont noticed a bit of lag. if you dont like what i bought, then like i said, STFU. because i dont care, and when the time comes (not for a while I hope) i'll upgrade it to something that i wish.

It's poorly coded and badly optimized. That's the ONLY reason you got bad
framerates: blaming it on the fact that you only had 1GB of RAM is all
crap. Far Cry has about the same draw distance with about as many features
and characters in the scene and I never got under 60fps at Very High detail
with my 1200mhz Tbird and GF4 Ti4600.

You need to admit to yourself that you overpaid for your system. There
is absolutely no shame to it: in fact, it would make you seem wiser in spite
of the fact that you did throw away 1200$ for nothing.

Himmler 07-13-2004 10:57 PM

ill admit i over-paid a bit, but it was a gift man, if i was saving up yard-work money for 2 years no i would not buy it. but since we can afford it, there is no shame in spending that much either. i never did blame it on the fact i had 1 gig of ram, but i am stating that i get 10 times better fps in it then with my other computer. with my other pc, in far cry i've seen my fps dip down to 10-20. even 5 in some cases. i also bought their 2 year extended warrenty, and taht was about 150-200 i think, cant remember. and i also bought some $70 5.1 channel headphones. and paid $70 for their support program, and $10 for a cable organizer.

Conscript 07-13-2004 11:54 PM

we want timeings..whole timeings not this OMG CAS24win bullshit ex:2-2-2-5 ..But since you got so much bloody ram i'll bet its 2-4-4-8 and only has cas2 as a selling point oOo:

Himmler 07-14-2004 12:05 AM

tell me what to do to get the timings, and i'll tell you

Go to http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and download the latest version and click on the memory tab

fujimi7su 07-14-2004 12:27 AM

you can do that or look in your BIOS

anyways solidus is right, SWG is horribly scripted.

i want to see timings to.

I wonder if alienware is overclockable or if they remove the overclocking options from the bios..

Don't get me wrong though... I'd KILL (Bill) to have that PC.

I'd say there is. Whether you can afford to spend 2500 EXTRA dollars or not. Thats still 2500 dollars that you wasted.

Conscript 07-14-2004 03:02 AM

Yeah,i dont want you to think im getting hostile or anything,I would love to have a PC like that...I would prolly strip it for parts and ebay its extreme ram but i would love to play with it while it was together happy:

Himmler 07-14-2004 09:18 AM

yes, i've looked in the BIOS, and it is definately overclockable. fireal...im sorry but theres no way you could get this system for $1000. cmon, the cpu alone is worth about $800 from most online stores. i dont have time to look at the timings right now, i gotta head off to work wallbash:

ill do it when i get home

i had almost the same as that, but it ran not even HALF as good. for one, fx-53 will out perform the 3000+, and you dont actually think 512mb of ram can compete with 1gig+? i have a dvd-rom, external dvd-rw, double the hdd space...so tell me..how are they the same?

fujimi7su 07-14-2004 05:18 PM

what about those timings? im just checking in for a laugh.

Himmler 07-14-2004 05:19 PM

im still at work, i said ill get them when im home.

fujimi7su 07-14-2004 05:20 PM

figured since you posted, and its 6:15 here that you were ... oh well i can wait... thesell be good.

Only question i have is...do you have a good surge protector to guard your investment? I didn't see one in the pics.

i didnt see you say this, but anyway i think i do, its about a year+ old.

im currently trying to figure out these timings, i think im just going to upload a pic of the memory page on cpu-z unless anyone wants to explain to me what each one means?

Himmler 07-14-2004 07:45 PM

2-3-3-6, i searched and that is what a lot of people get.
