BTW - for anybody that is interested, and still has their Spearhead disks, we have one of our Spearhead servers set up for a Halloween bash (70.84.102.29). You can get the Halloween "skins" in our download section. The skins were made by [5thESB]Niceguy - skins like Frankenstein, the Mummy, Zombies, Dawn of the Dead guys, etc. Also the maps have been modded to be spooky castles etc. Goofy? Yes. But alot of us old coots have kids that play the game, so it's alot of family fun.

I never did stop playing. I stopped for a few months at a time while I was busy with America's Army. I also have Spearhead, but I've only played the MP about 3 times and never finished the SP. The furtherst I got in the SP was that level where you're getting ballgaggeg by the artillery in the Ardennes Forest and then you have to kill about 10 waves of Germans who are charging your foxhole.

There was a good time zone converter linked from a thread on bengals...I'll try find it. That will be handy in picking a time to play.

The ending sucked, it was just you all alone in Berlin with a sniper rifle, and then you go in a tank and that's about it.

Spearhead had pretty lame online too I recall.

No, it was kool as fuck, I played that for like ten years. The mountable mg was coolest of all, and they had the smoke grenades which didnt do shit but give away your position.

Oh yeah! Fuck I DO remember playing that level. I remember playing the tug of war MP level on that game now too. Both were gay.

SP was shit. The fact that they had voting every 10 seconds and that the graphics were so blocky and there was fucking colored smoke everywhere you looked made the game bad. Oh yeah, and you couldn't walk and lean at the same time like in MoHaa, essentially rendering all 1-1 combat to useless and continuous shooting and no dodging bullets using the lean keys.

I fucking hated leaners, esp. those w/ the shotguns

We run on mod on one of the servers that makes the smoke poisonous. Still the smoke gives you away, but you can use it to "watch" your back ... when somebody passes through the smoke they start coughing so you hear them coming. Plus, the smoke kills them if they hang around in it for more than a second or two.

well, my ideal server had no rockets nor shotguns, 2 nades per person, and had devastating rifle shots. Leaning was a skill that people without it complained about.

You know the map I loved though was the one where it was a german bunker and the allies would spawn outside, and everyone would have rocket launchers, any server you went to, and it was like fucking nothing but shooting rockets into a doorway, it was funner than fuck
