Don't bring up any of the inquisition crap. That was long ago when the church was just total bullshit. The Church admits its faults and doesn't deny anything that has happened back then.
I'm going to make one of the most retarded analogies, but i think it may prove a point. If you're going to make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you need both the peanut butter AND jelly. Right now, you're just putting on jelly and forgetting the peanut butter and calling it a full PB and J sandwich. To call yourself catholic, you have to atleast follow the guidelines of "keeping the sabbath holy".
I'm done talking about religion and politics with SH. I quit the politics a little while back and it seems to be turning out well.

3. The 10 commandments + alot of books from the old testament were written for a tribe of people in the desert struggling for survival. Such as the rules against homosexauls. As in stone the 2 men caught etc etc. Now why was this made up ? Well considering the men should be fucking the women, and producing more babies, not doing other men. Thus you make a rule such as that, and century after century we get reinforced into our skulls that this is evil and a "nasty" thing to do. Even when we are not really struggling for survival anymore. Just an outdated rule, for an outdated book, made for a people struggling for survival. In anchient cultures such as the Greeks it was a normal thing for men to have homosexaul tendencies. Aristotle/Plato?Socrates one of the three were gay. I forget which one.
4. Yes the bible has a lot for us to take from, such as how we should treat people (new testament), kindly fairly etc. live life with morals and really you won't have much to worry about. |
