I drink when I feel like it, which isn't very often. I never really got into it again after I got charged with underage possession. I kinda just found other stuff to do and I don't really want to take any risks now that I've used my first offense and I plan on potentially pursuing a career in government work that would probably require a clean record.

I don't care if other people drink, it's just the people who overdo it and drink because they think "they should" that make me angry. you know, people like most college freshmen who are "stoked" to be able to "go out" every day of the week now that they don't have to go home with mommy and daddy every night. That and people who drink and drive. It's hard for me to imagine many things that are more reckless and completely selfish than drunk driving.

Yup, some people can get pretty dumb over it. Some people just seem to act like as soon as you hit a certain age if you're not out getting pissed out of your skull every night theres something very wrong. I don't get why people HAVE to get totally juiced either, is it so hard to go out have a few drinks and not make a total fucking idiot out of yourself? Suppose peer pressure + trying to fit in with the little group contribute to that though. sleeping:

I've also had 3 good friends die to alcohol (1 overdose, 2 car accident) and 3 acquaintances die of it as well. It just isn't something that I would like to tackle.

You've no idea of the people ive known who stayed away from it, went out one night and got completly hooked on it. I dunno how many times ive heard people say "i'll never drink" but from what ive seen so far the people that say that usually get hooked on it the worst, it goes from having a drink to needing a drink. Thats really whats kept me away from it, people who have a dependancy on it totally change in attitude. They bring back holiday pics and near every pic is of them with a beer bottle in their hand and you eventually find out they practically went on holiday and spent almost the entire time in a bar. oOo:

Thats why i laugh when we get the "cool" pics of some of the kids here on the piss, i just wonder is there only 1 or 2 of those pics or does just about every pic have a beer bottle in it somewhere. stupid:

gervis is right, on saturday my friends threw a going away party for me (Moving to NJ on friday oOo: ) and one aussie girl who i worked with always said she would never drink, well i bought some jack daniels and absolut, she was hooked on it and eventually passed out. Moral of the story, Jack Daniels is a good wingman haha, j/k.

For me, my weekends are there to relieve stress and forget about the pressures of school. At my age, the best way to do this is to get drunk, some nights drunker than others. I know its not good to use alcohol this way, but its my college escape. If im still doing this when im out of school, i'll seek help.
