Maybe we are just smarter than you...ever think of that?

Pyro 05-24-2005 04:29 PM

Darth sidious is what Hitler wanted to be...by far the smartest person in the star wars movies...being that he basically manipulated the entire galaxy.

Technically Palpatine kills him because the force lightning seriously fucks up his respirator and probably the rest of his life support.

So if we use wounds as a reason...techically the force lightning wouldn't of killed Vader if Obi Wan didn't beat him in episode III and made him need the suit...

How do you guys know this stuff??? What I just cant figure out is why isnt the plot from the movie enough? Does there always have to be a secret meaning, a message behind everything, secret sub-plots or events that didnt partake in the movie? I mean, take a look at your local Star Wars - dedicated forums...they have incredible theories on the origin of the Sith, Darth Mauls whereabouts before the movie...how do you guys get this stuff? It's not as if the directors are catering to the crowd who reads all the inside-books, then watches the movies...what you're supposed to see and know is in the movies, isnt it?[/quote:25d72]

by reading many many star wars books, and reasearching it all. i used to be a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge star wars freak when i was like 10-12. i have probably somewhere in my garage 234958249584 star wars merchandise items.

Madmartagen 05-25-2005 12:51 AM

go to star wars.com and check out the extended universe.

btw Himmler, who writes the best star wars books? the only one ive read is Shadows of the Empire because its considered to be 'part' of the actual storyline. anything you recommend that is considered to be part of the whole saga?

All the info I needed was in the movies

CoMaToSe 05-25-2005 01:05 PM

ok just saw it again, and saw the millenium falcon. It was at the beginning of the second act, landing at the senate building after the space battle

dr nein 05-25-2005 01:17 PM

It's not necessarily the Falcon.

CoMaToSe 05-25-2005 01:18 PM

this was unmistakeable. trust me

Zoner 05-25-2005 01:20 PM

It could've been a regular Corellian freighter. The Falcon wasn't unique in its design.

No doubt it was an nod to the Falcon put in for the fanboys, though.

Zoner 05-25-2005 01:57 PM

Yeah, saw it on Saturday. Didn't see the Falcon, though. I'll scour the DVD when it comes out.

lasagna 05-25-2005 03:13 PM

Arent their books for like episodes 7-9?

dr nein 05-25-2005 03:37 PM

There are a lot of books based after RotJ.

Himmler 05-25-2005 03:42 PM

there are like 200+ books based on the years after ROTJ. most books have other books listed in the back with a timeline of what happens in the books

elstatec 05-25-2005 05:24 PM

finally saw the film tonight. brilliant. perfect.

samuel jackson pwned the emperor until anakin fucked his shit up.

It's true. Palpatine needed Anakin to make the choice to set his dark path in stone. Just like he needed Luke to kill Vader.

thats true, but he couldnt not have taken mace at that point. if anakin didnt step in, there would be no episodes 4,5,6 biggrin:

Probably could have gone either way.

I think Palpatine was just faking the weakness. But even if he did have more power it won't do much if he has a saber blade in his brain.

lmao yep...the main reason why i think he couldnt have done anything else..is did you see how fucked up he got from the lightning? it totally almost killed him

Airborne Butters 05-25-2005 07:14 PM

I think Mace Windu coulda taken him, but the Emperor was totally faking. Look at how fast he killed off those 3 'Masters' that came with Windu. 2 saber thrust and down went the first 2, then a little block from the 3rd and he died.

Mace Windu's saber style is more about parrying and defending. He can take the momentum you swing at him with and redirect it back at you, hence the reversle of lightning. Most sabers just absorb the lightning and not fire it back.

dr nein 05-25-2005 07:23 PM

Were the other 3 Masters? I thought they were just Knights.

Airborne Butters 05-25-2005 07:31 PM
Were the other 3 Masters? I thought they were just Knights.[/quote:1ea97]

Could be. I was assuming that since they were going after a Sith Lord the others would be Masters. Gonna go check the SW database on this .

05-25-2005 07:34 PM

I think they were just knights, because only Masters are in the Jedi Council (which is made up of all of the masters), and none of the aliens were in the council...then again, i could be wrong.

Blase 05-25-2005 07:39 PM

Wasn't Mace Windu supposed to be the greatest lightsaber duelist at that time?

Well Qui-Gon was a master, but not on council.

Here's a pic of the guys with Windu

The gent to his right is Kit Fisto , a Jedi Master. Agen Kolar is first to Windu's left, with the blue saber. I think Agen was a Master, but I think it's more likely he was a Knight. The Other fella, with the Green Saber, is Sassee Tinn and he was a master. I'm pretty sure Agen was a master though...

Coleman 05-25-2005 09:14 PM

i definately feel out of place in this thread... loney:

Jin-Roh 05-25-2005 09:26 PM

Anakin Solo will fuck the Yuzhon Vong up. rock:

... or vice-versa.

Saw the movie. Terrible acting and terrible movie compared the 4, 5, and 6, of course. Seeing Padme "cry" towards the end just made me laugh. The droids were feeling TOO much emotion, fucking fags. In my opinion, they should have made Darth Vader's life support suit tight around the chest, he looked queer. The wookies are cool. The "Millenium Falcon" was put in there to make the movie cooler. The light-saber battles were just like any other fight. Overall, I didn't like it, but did not hate it. Some parts were good, some parts were pathetic. George Lucas, I think, lost that PASSion in film-making. If you think about it, it's as if this movie was based on a video game, rather than a unique story. rolleyes:

All 4 of them are on the jedi council. In episode 1, at least. Kit Fisto is cool lookin, like a stereotypical alien with dreads, a cloak, and a lightsaber. I want the action figure
