You don't even need to unlock them, they come now with 16 pipes enabled, all you have to do is set the clocks. And they ARE still available.

my proper one is coming at 11am tomorrow dance:

elstatec 04-04-2006 04:52 AM

well it came today, the actual last version with the r480 core and power connector, and yes 16 pipes straight out of the box. overclocked it to 540/590 from the stock 400/490 to give it XT PE speeds but took it down until i can find a decent enough gpu cooler.

Arctic Cooling ATI 4 (X800 Series) VGA Silencer

That should be good enough, and pretty much silent.

Stammer 04-09-2006 10:40 AM

I'll keep it short...

Problem :
CD-Drives and USB Hard-Drive don't show up in my computer but the CD-Drives show up in the BIOS, the other thing is the external drive shows up when I turn it off but when it gets switched on it disappears. ( oOo: )

So what the fuck is going on?

geRV 04-10-2006 07:47 AM

Probably your master\slave settings on the cd drive jumper. Set it to cable select and see if it shows in windows.

Stammer 04-10-2006 09:41 AM

Nevermind, it's fixed bad cable. Now I'm still having a problem with random lock-ups and random blackscreens. I was told about memory conflicts with software but how the hell do I go about checking for things like that?

geRV 04-10-2006 09:44 AM

Probably better off updating all your drivers. If the problm sill there then format or something, i don;t spend much time fucking around with software to find out what the problem is, i just nuke the lot. biggrin:

Pretty cheap from dell direct. eek:

Lol ya thats what i was happy: because its almost 200 bucks less

i really want to get that monitor, but it says that certain hardware is required to use it. i have a ATI 9800 Pro, an AMD 1.4ghz T-bird, and 768mb of SDRAM, is that enough?

It would run it fine for windows etc, games would struggle at the monitors native res though. Probably better off getting a more upto date system instead of going for a bigger monitor.
