£140 so about $263, not much in it i spose. Then again the headphones are worth £30 or so.

what are some of the advantages and disadvantages (if any) of using a dual hdd set up? Im thinking about doing it but i already have a 150 gb hd and it's quite fast. If i were to get 2, would file r/w and allocation become faster or something?

gerv, gerv, gerv... wtf is this thing? LOL, steroids has entered the gaming field folks

http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/06/05/ ... _7950_gx2/

can you imagine running 2 of these bad boys in quad sli?? There is NO game that is out or due out this YR or next for that matter, that will do these cards justice.. imo

geRV 06-06-2006 07:30 PM

Quad sli's a joke, unstable as fuck and not to mention 2 x1900's in crossfire were beating it in some benchmarks, for a 4 card setup to be spanked by a 2 card setup in ANY game is laughable.

gtboys34 06-06-2006 07:39 PM

whats makes it so unstable? psu, cooling etc??

geRV 06-06-2006 07:42 PM

Probably the drivers, nvidia have released those 7950's but not the software to have them in quad sli untill they get all the bugs worked out.

gtboys34 06-06-2006 08:41 PM

so when they fix the bugs, you still won't be buying (considering atleast) this card? I know it cost's about 600 bucks but wouldn't you love to own one or are you satisified with just having those 2 x1900 running on crossfire?

geRV 06-06-2006 08:42 PM

Ive only 1 x1900, at the minute anyway. Not considering any new cards till dx 10, or if i decide to add a second x1900.

gtboys34 06-06-2006 08:44 PM

so can you post your 3dmark test results or just tell me what you're running on games like cod 2, bf2, doom, quake fear or any of the fps that require alot of power?

geRV 06-07-2006 03:09 AM

Games like bf2, cod 2 etc i can run full settings, 1680x1050 16x aniso 6x anti aliasing. Hard to say what kind of fps im getting since it depends on whats going on in the game unless its an older game you're not gonna get a constant framerate with everything up full. You see some people saying shit like "omg im getting 60fps all the time", bullshit, theres always gonna be situations where your framerate will drop especially with one card, even dual cards bf2 can drop to 20 odd fps.

Bf2 in some cases can drop to 20 odd fps, but thats with adaptive anti aliasing and in maps with a load of foliage and me right in the middle of it. Adaptive aa means anything thats 2d like the grass textures is being smoothed out and since thers a load of it the you take a bigger fps hit.

Ill do 3d mark tomorrow, think it'l be around 6k.
