[quote="ED!":d6d74]Basically - it all boils down to BS. If he could just get things together or transfer the site so we can become "live" again - then this site would be poppin. I mean how long have we had this damn template for?[/quote:d6d74]
And still this site is one of the most active.

Damn even without mods it is still running happily and maintaining a heavy hit-rate.

Damn it must be a really shit site, no one posts here, right?

Shyeh.

I love these "who should be mod" threads. Everyone either volunteers or picks 2 or 3 people(most of the time those 2 or three would probably be a good mod). But the problem is once someone becomes a mod around here it seems they spend more time defending their modding then actually modding. Some threads should be locked... some people should be censured.. some people should be banned.
You cannot and should not expect the people that a Modding to always do what you think is right. But you can intelligently discuss what you think needs to be changed. If it does'nt change, too bad, so sad, move on.

There are lots of interesting people here. In the past I enjoyed being part of this site. If a Mod told me to stop flaming, I stopped. if a thread of mine got locked, I moved on no biggy.

So for all of you that think that you want to be mod here, good luck. I hope that people can show you a little respect.

I agree with your post but picked this bit out.

Anyone who actually asks to be mod probably has less of a chance of having that respect. Most don't have a chance.

If BS ever decides to pick some mods it will be his choice. A few exceptions aside it always has been. In my experience here I'd say he hasn't always shown good judgment.

Picking someone who is nice and helpful doesn't always assure that you will get someone who is responsible or has good judgment. That's not directed at any one individual it's just an example.

I've read most of the replies, and i agree that it's tough for the general population to "elect" a mod, but think it's the best way. We all know who shows respect even when you're involved in a heated discussion with them. I had some spats with a few of them here but nothing to the point where i'd consider them to be bad mods. Take Gerard for example...i remember calling him Gerald during a flaming session and am the only one who can call him that and get away with it. He got over it and laughs about it now. And just like Ydiss said earlier, you can rough it up a bit with peeps here but still have mutual respect for one another. People like that make good mods for they can admit when they're wrong and stop short of a total flame-fest.

Hey, Ed and Pyro get my votes also.
