I agree and disagree with Short Hand on this. gf1.com should not look like other sites out there, but the design you've done, SH, won't do either. It's a usability problem, not an aesthetic one.
Have to strike a balance between form and function. |
im really lost here...i was away for a whole week, what is groundforce1.com?

yea but then theres good and then theres bad, and thats just bad, sorry. this is a fps site, not anything else. |
i have to agree with the old man..but at the same token SH is on to something....

another point is look at the design, show 1 relevance to the site being about fps games, excluding the 'groundforce name'
i hate flash, i know quite a bit, but the only good flash site is the 0.099% top of them and i doubt anyone here would make one within the top 50% let alone the 0.099% |
It's probably better to go right into the "subpage" look right off the bat, since users probably won't go back to the index if the subpages have those links duplicated on them.
Usability research has shown that users first look to the left and top of the screen for navigation. An unconventional navigation system decreases user satisfaction. I'm all for artistic license, but when you're dealing with an information-driven site, you gotta put the user first. |

There isn't enough links. When they look for files, you would need to change the whole layout. And if you were trying to read something you would need to change it. Not such a good idea. |
