I just dont see what the hell yelling into the mic does for music, that isnt music. The only thing that saves metal from being somewhat decent is the guitar riffs.

metal does have alot of diversity. But your missing the point that there is talent in every genre. Punk music i would say the most talented person there is Travis Barker the drummer from Blink 182, i have yet to hear anyone better.
