people in ontario dont all have the same accent, and although many people here may sound like some people in New York state, especially close to the lake, no one here sounds like someone from syracuse, or any NYC dialect...

people in eastern canada (ie the maritimes) have far more of an accent than other canaadians beside french canadians...

people in the west have subtle accents as well...

most people in southern ontario sound like your average sitcom character, like on friends or something (whch is funny because in real life they would have all had accents - likely varying)...
